Teresa Collins 'Family Stories'

Hi there everybody! Long time no 'see'.  I've been busy behind the scenes, working and creating whenever I get a moment.  I just haven't had a chance to blog, so got more than usual to share today.  This month my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store contained the beautiful Teresa Collins 'Family Stories' collection. Here is what I did with it. :)
The first layout is of DS and I.
Love this washi tape with the cute little hearts.  The chipboard under the 'This was awesome' sticker is 2 Crafty 'Chevron Bits'.
The stars are from the decorative buttons packet.  The chipboard title is from WOW and the flair badge is from The Greatest View, available from The Scrapbook Store here.

For the next layout I used a family pic taken in January 2008.
Used another flair badge from The Greatest View. :)

And the last one is of DH and I having a 'perfect moment'. :)
I spread a nice thick layer of Atelier Heavy Gesso Primer over my page and used The Crafters Workshop 'Mini Punchinella' template to add a bit of subtle pink. :) The arrow, word and mini house are new WOW wood veneer.
The blue hearts were created by using one of the glitter borders and the MFT 'Layered Hearts Border' die.
The small hearts are the insides of the heart strip.
Altered the layered sticker a bit by adding another layer or two.
That's all I have for today.  Thank you so much for visiting today.  Hope you have lovely weekend.
Until next time!

Scrap Africa Chalenge No. 20 is here!

Hi everyone!  Well, after all the good intentions I had last week, I have failed miserably! :(  After getting upset at first I had a bit of a think and came up with the following conclusion... Life is too short to worry about the small things, so I'm just going to go with flow.  LOL!  Very unlike me, but necessary if I don't want my stress levels to go up!  So, without further ado, I introduce to you the new challenge at Scrap Africa.  Tadaaa!
It's a lovely challenge set by fellow DT member, Kerryn Lawson and I think you're going to like it.
The challenge is to use the colour scheme of BLUE, GREEN and WHITE, with more than 1 photo.

Here is my take on it.  I took these photos of my DD a few years ago, after she had one of those colourful (totally unhealthy sugary) drinks. Her tongue was bright green. I thought it would be perfect for the challenge.  I've started with a white cardstock background and used the Crafters Workshop 'Cosmic Bubbles' template and some Glimmer Mists to transform it.  The 'solid' blue/aqua and green pieces behind the photos were also white cardstock that were completely soaked in water and then I sprayed it using the same Glimmer Mist colours before drying it with my heat gun.  I like the watercolour effect this gives.
My title were done with some old American Crafts Thickers and Doodlebug alpha stickers from my stash.
My flower cluster using Prima flowers, Manor House flowers, Green Tara mini roses and Kaisercraft mini paper blooms.  The crocheted flowers are old ones from Petaloo.  I've used a flair badge from The Greatest View as the centre of the bigger crocheted flower.
Another little close up.  The paper doily is from Bo Bunny.
I hope you get a chance to play along.  To check out the other DT members' beautiful examples and to see what you can win, check it out HERE.  You have until the 31st of August to get your entries in.
That's all for today.  Thank you for visiting my little blog.  Have a wonderful weekend!
Until next time.

August Sketch at The Scrapbook Store

Hi everyone! I am determined to break the 'post drought' on my blog. Lol! I'm hoping to do more than one post a week from now one. Wish me luck! :)
The August sketch at The Scrapbook Store was designed by Melinda Spinks and it's just beautiful!
My take on it. I've turned the sketch on it's side to suit my photo. The photo is of my friend and her baby girl taken in the Spring flowers at Kings Park in 2009.  I've used the Kaisercraft 'Enchanted Garden' collection and I've used the Heidi Swapp 'Sunshine' stencil as a guide to create the 'rays'.
A few close up to show some of the detail.  The little fairies and butterflies are just so cute. :)
These flowers from Petaloo worked perfectly with this collection.
I cut the title using my Silhouette Cameo.
I hope you get a chance to play along.  There is a $40 store voucher up for grabs, including free postage! The winner gets determined by random draw, so anyone can win!  You have until the end of August to get your entries in. Good luck! :)
Thank you for visiting and to everyone who leaves me lovely comments. I appreciate it.
Until next time!

Scrap Africa Sketch Challenge No. 20

Scrap Africa has a new sketch challenge for August and what a gorgeous sketch it is!  The Design Team has done a superb job!  You can see all their work as well as the beautiful layouts of the Guest DT members here.  Here is the sketch.
And here is my take on it.  I have started my layout with a piece of old Basic Grey patterned paper that I had for ages.  I punch in a few places around my page using the Martha Stewart 'Cherish' border punch and distressed all the edges.  I then used Tim Holtz Distress Ink (colour 'Forest Moss') to ink random parts of my background paper.
After that, I stamped randomly with the Kaisercraft 'Script' and 'Bubble wrap' texture stamps using black ink.  Next I used my The Crafters Workshop 'Mini Chicken Wire Reversed' template and some Texture Magic to create a bit of texture on my page.
I had an old Prima vine in my stash and I thought it would go perfectly with this layout. I just added a few Green Tara Mini Roses
Then it was time for my title and a few pieces of washi tape to round it off.  I loved how this layout came together.  It's pretty simple, but its so me. :)

I hope you'll play along with this challenge.  There are some great prizes to be won! You have until the 14th of August to get your entry in!

Have a great weekend!
Until next time.
