March sketch at The Scrapbook Store

Hi everyone!  It's a very busy time for us, but we are having a wonderful time with our visitors. Unfortunately it gives me very little time for blogging and scrapping.  I've been writing this blog post for the last 3 days now. Lol!  This is just a quick post to tell you about the new sketch at The Scrapbook Store.  Here is the gorgeous sketch for March.
My take on it using an old Glitz Design collection and loads of Prima flowers. The photo is of my DD during an outing in the country one weekend.
The little birdie is a chipboard piece from Dusty Attic that I've painted white and I've cut the bird cage using a Poppy Stamps 'Vintage Bird Cage' die

I've used my Crafters Workshop 'Mini Bricks' template and Texture Magic on my background.
A variety of Prima flowers. :)
I hope you get a chance to play along. There is a $40 store voucher (with free postage) up for grabs and the winner gets determined by random draw, which means anybody can win!  All you have to do, is to upload your take on the sketch in the relevant folder in the Gallery before the end of March. :) It's that easy!
Before I go, I want to apologize to all my blog friends for my absence.  We are taking our visitors on a short holiday south of Perth next week and then we will have another week of exploring and sight seeing the week after.  I am hoping that things will return to normal after the 22nd.  I want to thank you all for visiting my blog and for your lovely comments.  I can't tell you how much I appreciate your support.
Until next time!

March Sketch at Scrap Africa

Hi everyone! What a week it's been... hectic plus! Our overseas visitors are ariving tomorrow, so I thought I better get on here, while I can. :)  A new sketch is up at Scrap Africa and it's really gorgeous!  Hope you get a a chance to play along. :)
My take on the sketch using the beautiful Kaisercraft '75 Cents' collection. I love this pic of my hubby and son (taken in 2010).
My title - a chipboard word from Scrap FX.
A close up of my embellie cluster.
If you want to join in on the fun, link your layout (based on the sketch) to the bottom of THIS post by the 14th of March. Would love to see your entries.
I better get some sleep, as tomorrow is going to be a big day.  Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have wonderful weekend!
Until next time!

Such a short month

Generally when you get to the 20th of the month, you think 'oh well, I still have 10 or 11 days left' but in this case it went something like 'OMG! How am I going to fit everything into the next week?!!!' There is so much happening in the first few months of the year with schools starting in February and for my kids Uni starts next Monday.. Hopefully everything will start to fall into some kind of routine and I will get more done! :)
I'm here to share another layout with you.  I used my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store and based my layout on the February sketch on the MME blog. Here's the sketch.
I've turned the sketch on it's side to suit my photos.  The pics are of my DD (taken about 3 years ago) before her Atheletics Carnival. I don't think she was in the mood for photos. Lol!  I've used the gorgeous MME Notable 'Unforgettable' collection.
Added some washi tape and created a thick heart by sticking several punched heart shapes together.
Cut my title using my Silhouette machine. :)
Some hexagons and flowers that I fussy cut from the pattern papers.  Just added enamel dots for dimension.
I've got a huge week coming up, but I'll be back on the 1st with examples for some of the March challenges.  Also, watch this space during March as I am going to have a HUGE give away here on my blog.  Just have to get myself organised and take some photos of what you can win. :):)
Hope you had a great weekend and wishing you a wonderful new week.  Thank you for visiting!
Until next time.

First DT layout for Scrap Africa

Hi everyone! TGIF! :)
I'm back to share my first layout as DT member for Scrap Africa.  My beautiful friend Lynette Jacobs has set the challenge this month and it's a great one!  Use the following picture as inspiration and create a project where hearts are your main accent. Pretty easy hey?  You can check out the reveal and all the stunning layouts from the other DT members here.
Here is my take on the challenge.  I've had great fun designing my heart overlay on my Silhouette machine! I've used my DT pack from The Scrapbook Store which contains the beautiful My Minds Eye Collectable 'Unforgettable' collection.   The photo is of my DD and my friend's 3 year old daughter. They have great fun when they get together.

A close up of my overlay. I've added pattern paper behind some of the hearts. My title was also cut using my Silhouette machine. :)

Just a few flowers cut from one of the sheets of paper.  I've added a few enamel dots to each flower.
A strip of washi tape and stickers from this collection.
You have until the 28th of February to get your entry in!  Just add the link to your completed project to the bottom of the blog post here.
That's all for this beautiful Friday afternoon. Thank you so much for visiting my blog.  Hope you have a fantastic weekend.
Until next time.

Special delivery

Hi there and happy Wednesday to you all.  I hope its a bit cooler in your knack of the woods. Perth has been sitting around the high 30's, early 40's for the last 5 days now.  Apparently we can expect a drop in the temperature tomorrow. :)  I have been scrapping a bit though.  Here is my first layout using my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store.  This photo was taken nearly 20 years ago when I held my baby boy for the first time after he was born. :)  I've used the new My Minds Eye Collectable 'Unforgettable' collection.
My title was cut using my Silhouette Cameo machine. I've just added double sided foam tape at the back to give it a 'lift'.  The cute little birdhouse is from Dusty Attic.
The saying on the sticker on the left 'I remember the first time I saw your face' is what made me dig out this photo of my son's birth.  When I showed the layout to my DH, he said 'I remember that day'.  I don't think you ever forget, do you?  The 'special delivery' was also cut using my Silhouette. :)
Not sure about my choice of paper for the 'stork', but just loved this little image and wanted to add it. :)
Another little stork. :)
I have more to share on Friday, so I guess I will 'see' you then.  Thank you so much for visiting.  I know I've been a slack blogger and have been bad on the commenting side.  I'm planning a 'mass blog visit' episode tonight. In the meantime, have a lovely day and hope you get to do something special for Valentine's Day tomorrow. ;)
Until next time.

A close up of my felt flower cluster. They are all old flowers from Prima and Basic Grey. The giant rhinestone is from the Glitz Design collection.
My title. The word 'just' was cut using my Silhouette. :)

New month, new sketch and new DT!

Hi everyone! It's been a strange January for me.  No running around getting kids ready for school. I'm almost feeling a bit lost! Lol! I'm sure the feeling will pass quickly though. :)
There is a new sketch up at The Scrapbook Store. Another beauty designed by Nadia. :)
Here is my take on it, using the beautiful Kaisercraft 'Tropicana' collection.  Just perfect for some of our Bali photos.  This is my DD and her bestie having cocktails in one of the many restaurants we ate at.
A close up of some of the fussy cutting. :)

More fussy cutting. :)
And the title I cut using my Silhouette machine.  I am determined to use it a LOT more this year. :)
I hope you are going to play along with the sketch.  There is an awesome $40 store voucher up for grabs and the winner gets determined by random draw, so anybody can win!  Pretty awesome hey? You can read all the latest news in the newsletter HERE.

Beautiful friends

I can't believe that I haven't blogged for a whole week. This thing called 'time' keeps on getting away from me. :)  I scrapped 2 layouts over the weekend.  The one I can't reveal now, but this one I can.  I played along with Stuck's 15th January sketch.  Here's what it looks like.
And here is my take on it, using a photo of my DD and her two besties. One of them took the pic on their iPhones and I was very lucky to be able to 'borrow' it. :) I've used the Crate Paper 'On Trend' collection available from The Scrapbook Store.
... and a few close ups.

That's all I have to share for today.  Thank you all for visiting.
Hope you've had lovely week so far. Happy Australia Day to all my fellow Australians! Have a wonderful long weekend.
Until next time!

Guest DT member for Scrap Africa!

Second post in just over a day!  Most unusual for me. I know.  I did say yesterday that I will have something exciting to share in today's post... and now you know!  I am totally thrilled to be a Guest DT member at SCRAP AFRICA this month!  You can read all about the new challenge and see the reveal of all the gorgeous layouts from the rest of the DT members HERE.
So the challenge is:
Use postage stamps on your layout, old, new, rubber stamped stamps, whatever you have in your stash!!  You have until the 31st of January to get your entries in!

Here is my example.  I've used the Kaisercraft 'Check In' collection.  It's a gorgeous range suited for all your travel photos.  The photo is of my DD while on holiday in Bali during early December 2012.  My main focus was to try and convert the photo into a postage stamp, therefor the money value near the top of the photo.
A close up of some of the embellishments.  The smaller stamp 'frame' was made using an older Cuttelbug die I had in my stash for ages. :)

Some of the tickets that come with this range. :)
And my journaling on a tag, just to fit in with the theme. :)
That's all for today! Hope you are having a great day and a lovely week! Thank you so much for visiting!
Until next time!

A bit more 'Marigold'

Hi everyone. I'm back to share another layout using my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store. To be really honest, I'm not all that fond of the first two I did earlier this month. :(  So last night I sat down and realised that I just have to go with what comes natural for me. No use pushing the boandries every time hey? I had this beautiful background paper from the Kaisercraft 'Marigold' collection and found an older photo of my mum and I and this is what I came up with.
A little close up of the beautiful Dusty Attic Birdcage chipboard. Just spread a thin layer of Gesso over the top.  Also used some Texture Magic and my Crafters Workshop 'Cherry Blossom' template to create a subtle textured background at the top of my page.
The Collectables that come with this range makes it really easy to embellish your pages.  Also used a variety of Kaisercraft Paper blooms and Prima flowers.
I cut the leave using the Poppy Stamps 'Lorelai Leaf' die.
The chipboard words for my title are from the TSS Chipboard 'Assorted Words 07'.  Love using these smaller words on my layouts. :)   And I don't seem to ever get enough of using these Kaisercraft pearl strips. Just finishes a page of so nicely I think.
That's all from me today! I'll be back in a day or two with an exciting share. :)
Hope you are all managing to stay cool.  It's been extremely hot and humid in Perth for the last 2 days.  Looking forward to the cooler weather they are predicting for tomorrow.
Thank you for visiting.
Until next time!

New year! New layouts!

Hi there blog friends!  Hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Christmas and New Year!  Our little family had a lovely time catching up with friends and just enjoying each others company while hubby was on leave.  Unfortunately for us, we couldn't spend any time with family this year, but that's just the way it is sometimes. :(  I managed to fit in some scrappy time too.  My DT pack from The Scrapbook Store was just too enticing to ignore! Lol!  I received the Kaisercraft 'Marigold' collection this month and I love it.  The following layout is based on one of Kaisercraft's sketches for December, but I didn't get around to posting it by the due date.  I used some photos of my friend's little man.   Just love all these fun pics of him.  I am not a hundred percent happy with how my photos turned out, so might think of retaking them tomorrow.
A little close up of some of the layers.  Can you believe that there isn't a single flower in sight?!
I had loads of fun using the fun elements from the 'Collectables' pack.
Another fun little banner. :)
My second layout... going a bit more floral this time. :)  The photo is of the kids and I with my parents while on holiday in 2005.  I wanted to use this beautiful piece of pattern paper but didn't want to cover it up too much. So decided to cut a circle out in the middle and put my photo behind instead. Added some Kaisercraft paper blooms and a pearl flourish to finish it off. :)
A close up of my title and great little quote that was included in the sticker sheet.
I have set myself the mammoth task of tyding up my scrap room this month.  I have loads of stash that I will never get to use, so I think there will be a HUGE giveaway coming up soon. Watch this space! :)
For now it is over and out from me.  Thank you for visiting and I hope you are having an awesome week. :)
Until next time!
