Websters Pages 'Dream in Color' for The Scrapbook Store

Hi everyone. Wow, I can't believe how long it's been since I've been here. My poor little blog has been very neglected. Life just seems to get in the way of crafting (and blogging) sometimes.
I have no dream of catching up as such, as that will just be too unrealistic and add way too much stress to my day! Lol! Instead, I am just going to share my DT work for The Scrapbook Store for May.  I worked with the very vibrant Websters Pages 'Dream in Color'.  To be very honest, a bunch of bright colours together scares the living daylights out of me, but nothing like a challenge hey?!

My first layout was probably the one that's the most in my usual style. The photo is from a picnic we had during a family holiday last July.  I've added some Blue Fern chipboard and texture paste through a Crafters Workshop stencil.
A few close ups for the finer details. :)

The next layout became a bit brighter, so I started to play along. :)  The photos are from our recent holiday to Tasmania.  We visited a marble shop in a little town called Sheffield and witnessed a beautiful marble being made from scratch.
And again, a few close ups...

With my last layout I started to get brave and went all out! Lol! In this case it was the photo that inspired me.  The photo was taken in the marble shop and was a canvas by the very talented owner herself.  I added some colourful 'paint splashes' on a white background to keep the focus on the beautiful art itself.
 More close ups!

Still not sure if lots of brights are my kind of thing, but I think it might be growing on me a bit. ;)

I am going to try my hardest to keep this blog thing going, so will add my TSS June Sketch challenge example in the next day or two.
Thank you for visiting and for not abandoning me when I was MIA. :)
Until next time.

More Jillibean Soup 'Summer Red Raspberry Soup'

Hi there everyone! I am on the fly today, so just wanted to quickly pop in to share more of my DT work for The Scrapbook Store working with the beautiful Jillibean Soup 'Summer Red Raspberry Soup' collection. The layout below is about 2 very cute 'muffin monsters'. We met with some friends for breakfast a few weeks ago and these two little rascals consumed a whole lot of muffins between the two of them.  I thought that these papers had just the right amount of fun to match the photos. :)
The flowers are from Prima and the wood veneers is part of this collection.
This photo shows the heap of empty muffin casings/wrappers. Lol!
More wood veneer butterflies and flowers, which I coloured up using my new Prima Watercolor pencils. I've also added a few enamel dots from my stash.
More wood veneer as well as some Pea Pod Parts and Soup Labels.
I've also made two cards using my left overs. I am not a great card maker, but do enjoy creating the odd card now and again.  This first card features few Green Tara mini roses, a Prima flower and butterfly as well as a gorgeous border that was cut using a Joy! Crafts die. Finished it off with a bit of seam binding and a wood veneer heart. :)

For the next card, I've used another Joy Crafts die. Everything else, except for the epoxy shapes and seam binding are from the 'Summer Red Raspberry Soup' collection.

That's all for today, and as hubby and I are leaving for a 12 day trip to Tasmania tomorrow night, it will be my last post for a short while. I hope you are all having a beautiful week and thank you so much for popping in.
Until next time!

Jillibean Soup for The Scrapbook Store

Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing well and enjoying a lovely weekend.
Today I want to share a DT layout I've created for The Scrapbook Store.  I am working with the super cute Jillibean 'Summer Red Raspberry Soup' collection this month.  The photo is of my friend's gorgeous little girl and was taken about 5 years ago.
I've added a bit of texture using the Prima 'Bubbles' stencil and Liquitex 'Super Heavy Gesso'.

A close up of some of the cute little 'Pea Pod Parts' that's part of this collection.
More 'Pea Pod Parts' and 'Soup Labels' teamed with a few 'Wood Veneer' flowers.
And another close up for good measure. :)
This is all for today. I have another few projects to share using this awesome collection, so I'm hoping to be back soon. Thank you so much for visiting.
Until next time.

April Sketch Challenge at The Scrapbook Store

Where has the time gone? My boy is home for the 2 week uni holiday and my girl and hubby are home too, so I think there are too many distractions and lovely things to do.  Hubby and I also celebrated our 25the wedding anniversary on Tuesday and a few friends and I organised a surprise 50th birthday party on Saturday for another friend.  With all the extra activities, no wonder I'm not getting time for blogging. :)
A bit on the late side, but today I want to share the April Sketch at The Scrapbook Store with you.

Here is my example, using the gorgeous new Bo Bunny 'Garden Journal' collection.  You might recognise some (or all 3) of the lovely ladies in the photo. :)
The fence is from Dusty Attic and I've treated it with a layer of brown acrylic paint followed by a layer of white crackle paint.
The banner was fussy cut from one of the patterned papers in this collection and the title is an older Heidi Swapp alpha set that I coloured up using Distress ink.
I have used a variety of Prima flowers and Green Tara mini roses. The leaves were punched from cardstock using a Martha Stewart punch.
All products are from The Scrapbook Store.  I hope you get a chance to play along with us. There's a $40 store voucher up for grabs and it also includes free postage. The winner gets determined by random draw, so anybody can win.  You have until the end of April to get your entries in. Good luck!
That's all for today. Thank you so much for visiting. Have an absolute wonderful week!
Until next time.

Authentique 'Classique Beauty' for The Scrapbook Store

Hi, I'm back to share another layout using the Authentique 'Classique Beauty' collection.  I have thoroughly enjoyed working with this collection this month for The Scrapbook Store.  This time I've done a very clean and simple page using a beautiful photo of my daughter.

These Petaloo flowers are some of my favourites and come in great range of colours. I just added a few Green Tara mini roses and some 2Crafty chipboard leaves to complete my cluster.
I've used a Scrap FX chipboard title, which I inked in black before giving it a coat of Glossy Accents.  The 'Small Garden Daisies' chipboard is from Blue Fern Studios and I've given it a similar treatment as my title by using Tim Holtz Distress Inks to give it some colour and finishing it off with a coat of Glossy Accents.
All papers and stickers are from the Classique Beauty collection and all products used are available from The Scrapbook Store.
That's all for today.  Thank you once again for visiting and have a lovely (short) week.  Wishing you all a wonderful and blessed Easter break.
Until next time!

More of Authentique 'Classique Beauty'

Hi everyone! I'm back with another share working with the gorgeous Authentique 'Classique Beauty' collection for The Scrapbook Store.  As the name would suggest it is primarily a feminine collection, but nothing like a challenge hey?  I've decided to use a photo of my son and I and wanted to try and keep the layout masculine as far as possible.  I thought I could get away with a few flowers because I was in the photo too. ;)

A close up of my little cluster of Petaloo flowers, Green Tara Mini roses and stickers.  I had great fun tearing some washi tape into thin strips to add a bit of red to my layout.
The light bulb is from 2 Crafty and the arrows are Prima crystals from my stash.
I've created my background using a Tim Holtz 'Dot Fade' stencil and texture paste and then added layers with different stamps from Tim Holtz and Prima. The 2Crafty 'Interlocking Grid Panel' chipboard looked great with just a layer of black ink.
I was inspired by the gorgeous mood board at Scrap Around The World. The quote is pretty much how this photo makes me feel and the yellow just matched perfectly. I also thought that the  arrows were a nice touch.
That's all I have for today, but will be back soon with another creation or two.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog. Have a wonderful day.
Until next time.

Authentique 'Classique Beauty'

I am working with the gorgeous new Authentique 'Classique Beauty' for my DT work for The Scrapbook Store this month.  Here is my first layout.  I've used a photo of my DD and one of my best friends, taken on Christmas Day 2014.
I've used a piece of the Blue Fern Studio 'Roman Clocks Small' chipboard and some delicious Petaloo 'Burlap Wild Sunflowers' and Petaloo 'Dahlias'.  The butterflies are also from Petaloo and the mini roses are from Green Tara.

The chipboard title is from 2Crafty.  After covering it with a thin layer of gesso, I gave it some colour using my Tim Holtz Distress Inks.
A close up of the other little flower cluster, showing off another gorgeous Petaloo burlop flower and a few Green Tara Mini roses.  The rhinestone flourish is an old Prima flourish from my stash.
Another close up, just for good measure. :)

I've decided to play along at Scrap Africa this month, as the colours from their mood board are just so inspiring and perfect for this collection.  They also have some amazing inspiration up on the blog, so why not check it out and play along?
That's all from me for today.  I'm busy working on another layout using this collection, so will hopefully be back to share soon.  Thank you so much for popping by my blog. Have a lovely day.
Until next time.

March Sketch Challenge at The Scrapbook Store

Hi everyone! Welcome back to my blog. I apologise for my long absence. I've taken  a little break from most things crafty as I had a few things that needed my attention.  It's the first time I took time away from scrapbooking in 12 years, but now I am back and hopefully ready for another 12 years!

The first thing I want to share with you is the March Sketch Challenge at The Scrapbook Store.
Here is my take on it.  I've used the gorgeous new Simple Stories 'I am' collection.
A close up showing some of the texture I've created using the Tim Holtz 'Dot Fade' stencil and texture paste.
I've cut the flowers from one of the patterned papers and also added stamping using the Kaisercraft 'Grid' texture stamp with black Staz On ink.
The butterfly is from the 'Bits & Pieces' packet from this collection.  I've added some Clearsnap Smooch Glitz 'Frost' to create a bit of shine.
I hope you get a chance to play along. There is a $40 store voucher up for grabs and it also includes free postage. The winner gets determined by random draw, so anyone can win.
That's all I have for now.  I promise to be back soon with another share.
As always, thank you so much for visiting. I appreciate it.
Until next time!

Altered Cigar Box

Hi there blog friends.  It's been a long time since my last blog post and I apologise.  I really have no excuse, except for that life has been getting in the way of my scrappy time lately.  A few niggly health issues and a few other issues... nothing too serious.
So without further ado, here is my latest project.
This month I received the gorgeous Couture Creations 'Vintage Rose Garden' collection in my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store.  I've decided to alter a cigar box which I intend using as a jewelery box.
This is a view of the lid.  I've used the Blue Fern Studios 'Bordeaux Layered Frame' chipboard which I painted in off-white and then inked the edges using Tim Holtz Distress inks.  The background has been treated with a bit of texture paste using the Crafters Workshop mini 'Art Is' stencil.  The flowers are Petaloo burlap blooms, Petaloo mini wild roses, Prima flowers and Green Tara mini roses.  The leaves are also from Green Tara.
A close up of the front.  I've added some lace around the edge of the lid and repeated some of the same flowers in the left bottom.
The inside of the box.  I've lined the bottom with felt and the added a little saying from one of the pattern papers.
A close up of the inside of the lid.  More Petaloo blooms and Green Tara mini roses and leaves.
Another close up of the top of the box.  The word 'Dream' is a mini chipboard wordlet from WOW and I've heat embossed it using Stampendous Frantage 'Shabby Pink Rose' embossing powder.
That's all for now.  I am currently working on another project using these gorgeous papers.  Will hopefully be ready to share soon.  Thank you so much for popping by.  Have a wonderful week!
Until next time.
