She did it!

Just a quick layout share using my June DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne.  Still using the beautiful October Afternoon.'9 to 5' collection.  This one is about my DD passing her practical driving test last month.  It was her first try and she was so excited. :)
Used an old Basic Grey bloomer and the phrase sticker is from the '9 to 5' collection.
More bits from this collection... a die cut for the journaling and a flag.  Fussy cut the flower from one of the pattern papers too. :)
I had fun playing with this range and came up with 3 very different layouts.
Don't forget that you can still play along with the Handmade by Suzanne June Sketch challenge.  There's a $30 voucher up for grabs with free postage.  New stock is arriving daily, so you will have loads to choose from!
That's all for now. Hope you are having a great week.
Until next time.

More 9 to 5

Hi there blog friends! It looks like I'm becoming a Sunday blogger hey. :)  Thing is, I finished this layout on Thursday already but the sun just didn't want to shine here in Perth so I could get a decent photograph.  Today it's popping it's head out every now and again which makes for a nice change. :)This is another layout created with my June DT pack from Handmade by Suzanne.  I've used the beautiful October Afternoon '9 to 5' collection.  This page is totally different from the one I posted last week... just to show you how versatile this range is.
A close up of my cluster.  I've used Prima flowers, Kaisercraft Ribbon rosesGreen Tara leaves and Kaisercraft wooden 'Berry Vine' and a small bird cage.  The lace is from Kaisercraft too.
Used my Martha Stewart 'Swirling Lace' punch for the borders and created the banner using my Fiskars scalloped circle punch.
That's all for today.  Hope you are having a lovely Sunday.  Thank you for visiting my blog and for all your beautiful comments. They make my day.
Until next time.

October Afternoon '9 to 5'

This month I had the beautiful October Afternoon '9 to 5' collection in my DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne. I thought it would be tricky to use, but the papers are pretty easy to use with any other theme. This pic of my son and my mum shows his personality to a T. I thought, well that's his full time job... to be silly and entertain everybody. Lol!
I've got the inspiration for the circle background from a layout by the very talented Piradee Talvanna
The biggest job on this layout was cutting all the circles out of chipboard. :)
More sticker elements from this collection.
I stuck my title alphas down on a transparency, cut around it and then stuck it over the top of the 'holes'.
That's all for today! Thank you so much for popping by and for your lovely comments.  They make my day.  Have a great week!
Until next time.

Two challenges for you!

Hi there! I'm running a bit behind... maybe I'll just blame it on the public holiday we had on Monday.  It messes with my week you know. Lol!
I've got 2 challenges to share with you.  First up is the June challenge at Scrap The Girls.  Check it out.  It's a really easy one and there are some great prizes up for grabs.  All you have to do is to scrap some outdoor photos.  You've got until the last day of June to link your entries up but remember GIRLS ONLY.  Here is my example:
I love the colours in this new range from Echo Park called 'Paradise Beach' The alphas for my title is the new Jillibean Soup Alphabeans.

The next challenge is the June sketch at Handmade by Suzanne.  Another beautiful sketch designed by Nadia Cannizzo.
My take on the sketch using the gorgeous My Minds Eye 'Follow Your Heart' collection.  The pic is of my dad when the were visiting a short while ago.  He sure has a heart of gold. xx
I've used a Kaisercraft wooden Roman Clock face and small wooden leaves as well as a variety of Prima flowers and Green Tara Mini roses.
 Another close up. :)
To enter this challenge all you have to do is create a layout based on the sketch and upload it into the gallery at Handmade by Suzanne.  You can win a $30 store prize from HBS.  The winner gets determined by random draw. :)
I hope to see lots of entries from my blog readers.  Both these challenges are super easy and there are great prizes up for grabs.
That's all for today!  Hope you are having a great week.
Thanks for visiting.
Until next time.

Bird Is The Word

Just a quick post to get my entry in for Bird Is The Word.  This time you had the use the word 'Smile' on your layout.  What better pic to have used than this one of my friend's 2 kiddies.  They are such sweet children and just love each other to bits. There really is sunshine in their smiles. :)
A close up of my title.  I've used hessian and calico to 'back' it on as I thought it added nicely to the natural feel of these papers.  I just love this range of Simple Stories called 'Summer Fresh'.  I seem to be using my Crafters Workshop 'Chicken Wire' template a fair bit lately. :)
Anyhows, that's it for now. Hope you are having a lovely Sunday and that you get to do something crafty.  Have fun!
Until next time.

Once Upon A Sketch

My 3rd post in 2 days! I don't think I've ever done that before. :)  It's nearly end of the month, so not too much time left to get my layout in that I've created for Once Upon a Sketch. I absolutely adore Nadia's sketches and I always have the best intentions to play along, but you know how it goes.
This month I had the opportunity as I went to the HBS Retreat over the weekend and had a bit more time to create. :) The challenge for May is to interpret the theme 'Mum' however you like and to base your layout on the next sketch.
I knew straight away what I wanted to do, but it was a bit of an emotional struggle for me. You see, I don't often put my private thoughts on paper for the world to see, but on the other hand, I knew that this would be therapeutic for me at the same time. As the mother of 2 teenagers, I constantly struggle with the fact that I have to 'let go'. It's so hard to see your kids wanting to make their own decisions (even if you know it's the wrong ones) and to let it happen. So this layout is for my son (he's 19 and well on his way to becoming an adult), so that he knows that no matter what... I'll always be there for him.  I've mainly used the Bo Bunny 'Country Garden' collection.
A close up of my journalling...
 and my title...
... and my little cluster. :)
I love how it's turned out and I'm intending to play along with Once Upon A Sketch more often. :)
Thank you for popping by my blog and for your comments.  They make my day.
Until next time.

I'm back...

...with another layout!  Lol... didn't think I would be back so soon, did you? I just loved this sketch from Stuck Sketches and decided to play along (again). This one is for the 1st of May sketch.
Here is my take on it using my gorgeous DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne.  I adore this collection from Crate Paper called 'Pretty Party'.  The pics are of my friend's little girl.  It was such a hot day and she was very thirsty. :)
A close up of my cluster.  The Melissa Frances resin butterflies are just gorgeous. The flowers are all from Prima.  I've used American Crafts DIY Thickers again with POP! Microbeads stuck on top.  Love how it has turned out and I think I'll be using these more often.
Another little cluster with a Melissa Frances butterfly. :)
Thank you once again for visiting my little blog and for all your lovely comments.  They make my day.  Have a great week!
Until next time.

Stuck?

Hi everyone! I hope you had a fabulous weekend! I went to the HBS Retreat and it was a total blast! Late nights, lots of laughter and a bit of scrapping too. :)  It was great catching up with the girls.
I managed to do a few layouts.  Not as many as I would've liked to, but I'm not complaining.  First up is a layout based on the 15th May challenge at Stuck Sketches
Here is the sketch:
And here is my take on it.  The pic is of my DD and my mum taken a month ago. One of my favourite pics of our holiday.  I've used my DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne.  Most of it is from the Crate Paper 'Pretty Party' collection. Real pretty papers. :)
I've got loads of washing and housework to catch up on, but I will be back with another layout very soon. :)
Thanks for popping by!
Until next time.

A beautiful view

I've had a little time to scrap last night and it felt so good! I don't seem to get too much time lately to be creative. :(
My DT pack from Handmade by Suzanne is full of Crate goodness this month. I've created this layout using the Crate Paper 'Pretty Party' collection. I can't wait to create more with this gorgeous range.  The pic is of my DH with the family.  We took them all over Perth this particular day to show them all the beautiful sites.  Here we were at Heathcote where you can see a stunning view of Perth City across the Swan River.
A little close up of the new DIY Thickers that's in store now.  They come in various designs and are sticky on both sides so you can customize them to suit your layout.  I've used POP! Microbeads on mine.
The tags on my layout are from the back of one of the pattern papers.
I also had a play with my MT Masking tape.:)
That's all I have to share this time.  I'm hoping to be more blog active as from next week.  My parents are leaving on Monday to go back home. :(  I will miss them so much and the house will be way too quiet after having people around every day for 2 months.
I have something to look forward to though.  I'm off to the Handmade by Suzanne Retreat over the weekend!  Looking so forward to seeing some of the lovely ladies again that I met last time. A whole weekend of creating and laughing!  Bring it on! :)
Well, that's all for today.  I hope to be back soon with more layouts to share. If not before, it will most definitely be after next weekend.
Thank you so much for visiting! Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.
Until next time.

Big Ben

Happy Mothers Day everyone!  I hope you had a lovely day and were spoilt rotten by your kids and hubbies.  I have my mum here with me for Mothers Day for the first time in over 20 years!  In fact I think it might be over 30 years.  As I was in boarding school and have always lived far away from home, I was never at home during Mothers Day.  A bit say hey?  I am so blessed to have my mum and dad visiting at the moment and to have my kids right here with me.  Both Mum and I were very spoilt. :)
I'm just popping in to share my example on the sketch challenge over at Handmade by Suzanne. This month's beautiful sketch was designed by the very lovely Nadia Cannizzo. Here it is:
And here is my take on it.  The pic is a very old one (before the digital camera) of Big Ben in London.  I was there in 2001.  I've used the beautiful Pink Paislee 'London Market' collection.
A close up of the WOW chipboard frame that I altered using gesso and a bit of pink and black paint. :)
The wooden clock and all the flowers are from Prima and butterfly 'trail' is part of a Zva Creative flourish.
Most of the emphemera are from the Pink Paislee 'London Market' collection. Love this gorgeous birdcage and birdie.
I would love to see your take on this gorgeous sketch.  All you have to do to take part, is load your layout in the gallery before the end of the month. You could win a $30 store voucher including free postage.  The winner gets determined by random draw, so anyone can win!
That's all I have for today.  Thank you for visiting and for your lovely comments.
Have a great week!

May Challenge at Scrap The Girls

Hi beautiful people!  I'm am rushing around like crazy at the moment to get ready for my DD Year 12 ball that's tomorrow night.  The limo is picking everybody up from our house, so I need to clean up and provide snacks and drinks while they wait.
I'm just flying past to share the Scrap The Girls May challenge with you.  All you have to do is create a layout using the following quote:  'Having a sister is like having a best friend you can't get rid of.  You know whatever you do, they'll still be there." -Amy Li.  Just remember, ONLY girls.
Here is my layout.  I've used a photo of my mum and her sister while we were on holidays last month.
I have used the 'Pretty in Pink' collection from Glitz Design together with some beautiful Prima flowers, a wooden Prima clock face and a Kaisercraft wooden 'Berry Vine'.
A close up of my title.
Love the wooden butterfllies from Kaisercraft.
All products are available from Handmade by Suzanne.
Okay, got to rush.  Cleaning, shopping, etc to be done. :)
Thanks for popping by and have a great day!

Last layout for April

Thought I'd squeeze one more layout it before April is done!  Can't believe how quickly time flies. Here is another layout I did using my gorgeous April DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne.  The pic is one of my DD and I in 2008.  I LOVE this girl. :)  I've used MME Miss Caroline 'Fiddlesticks' pattern papers, label stickers and die cut title.
A close up of my cluster with a Prima Resin window and Prima flower.
Love this Prima Pearl Crystal flourish.  It is so sparkly with a mixture of pearls and crystals.
And another close up, just because.  :)
That's all I have to share with you for now.  Will be back in a few days with some creations for May.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog and for all the gorgeous comments you leave behind.  Have a great week!
Until next time.

Finally!

Hi everyone!   Just as you thought I've fallen off the face of the earth... here I am!  I finally had some time to be creative.  Phew!  I started to develope some serious withdrawal symptoms. Lol! I'm sure you all know what I mean. :)
We've had a fantastic week away and had a crazy couple of weeks driving around showing our visitors all the beautiful sites around Perth and further down south.  My aunt left on Thursday night and very slowly things are returning back to normal.  Schools are starting on Thursday and my DD will be going to her Year 12 Ball next week Friday, the 4th of May.  Busy, but exciting times ahead.
Okay, enough of all of my busy life.  I came here to share some scrappy stuff with you. :)

I've created this layout using my DT pack from Handmade by Suzanne.  As all of you know already, I'm totally in love with all MME products.  Here I've used the MME Miss Caroline 'Fiddlesticks' collection.  The pic is of my friend's little girl when she was about 3 months old. I love the colours of this range and thought it was perfect for this baby pic.
A close up of some of the layered stickers in this range.  Love my Green Tara paper string too.
The banner is part of the layered sticker sheet too. :)  Love these tiny Prima flowers.
A close up of the big wooden die cut.
Don't forget that you still have time to enter the sketch challenge at Handmade by Suzanne.  Check out my previous post for all the details.  You could be the winner of a $30 voucher (inclucing free postage).  All you have to do is enter!!
That's all for today. :) I'm hoping to find some time to catch up on all my favourite blogs soon.
Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful week!
Until next time.
