Here is my take on it. All products used are from this collection. I have added some hessian, cardboard, twine, a cork button and the alpha stickers.
The wooden cogs are from Kaisercraft too. :)A little close up of my title. I modified the 'Dad' metal title by covering it with gesso first and then painting it with brown and black paint to give it an 'older' look.
Hope you are enjoying the lovely long weekend (if you live in Australia). My crew is keeping me fairly busy, but I'm loving it.Thank you popping by.
Until next time.

Fabulous layout Marilize...the papers are just perfect to highlight the great photo of your dad. Love the banner too!
You just sent me rummaging through the diary Marelize - what long weekend? Then I saw it's just about everywhere but Vic!
Anyway love the pic of your dad. You're so lucky to have one of him at that age. Great layout that captures the feel of the era.
Isn't a page so much easier when it all comes together on it's own? I love what you have done with the sketch, using that great paper. It's so stylish.
Enjoy the day off tomorrow with the beautiful weather.
