Scrap the Girls

Talk about just scraping in... Phew! I had this challenge printed out and sitting on my scrappy table waiting to be scrapped for about a week now.  I had the papers, the photo and I just had to do it.  I finally got down to it today and only just in time. :)
It was a colour challenge at Scrap the Girls this month and you had to use the colours Cream/White: Light Pink: Dark Pink and Black. I wanted to do this the first time I saw it on the STG's blog and I'm so glad I did.  The pic is of my DD and one of her very good friends she's had since primary school.
Only one problem. The sun never came out in Perth at all today, so I couldn't get a decent photo. :(   The colours are actually quite different IRL.
A close up of my little cluster. I just love that black rose trim from Handmade by Suzanne.
And another one for good measure. :). Btw, that charm is not suppose to lie so squarish on there. :)
And I'm sorry, I know I've promised pics of my scrap room, but it just didn't work out this week. When it was clean, the light was bad and when it was a mess, the light was good. :(  I promise to give it a huge effort this weekend and hopefully it will be clean and the light will be great all at the same time. Lol!
I'm also still having problems with Blogger on and off. I think most of us are.  So if I haven't left you a comment lately, its not for lack of trying.  I will preservere though!
DS is doing much better. Thank you so much to everyone who send him get well wishes. Very much appreciated.
Got to go and finish cooking dinner now and then tackle some ironing.  That's what happens when you scrap during the day. :)
Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
Until next time.

He is amazing...

I'm back for another post this week! I'm playing along at 'Bird Is The Word' again. This time I used the word Amazing on my layout. Now, after my last post about my scraproom make over, I couldn't go past my DH when I thought of the word 'amazing'. He is just such an amazing man and he truly makes me happy. Lol! Well, most of the time. Now, this photo is not one of him smiling, but it shows of his personality perfectly. DD took the pic and he looked right at her glaring into the lense.  Its not often we get a smile from him or DS when taking photos. I've printed this beautiful quote on some masking tape. It says "I have looked in your eyes with my eyes. I have put my heart near your heart." Unfortunately I don't know who the author of the quote is.
I have used my kit from Handmade by Suzanne for this. Now, you already know how much I love My Minds Eye. Well, this is Lime Twist 'Out of the Blue' again. :)
A close up of the bottle cap. These are so easy to use and you can find it right here.
My qoute printed on masking tape. Check out the rest of the masking tape here. It's available in a great range of colours and patterns.
And a final close up. I created the ink splatters using Glimmermist 'Raven'. I didn't use the spray but an ink dropper from here.
Now, I had a quite a few requests to share photos of my scrap space. I'll make a huge effort this weekend to clean it up and take some pics. Hopefully, I'll be able to share in my next post. :)
I'm hoping to get a bit more scrapping done this weekend and I'm also making a huge effort on catching up on all my favourite blogs.  I'm sorry if you haven't had a comment from me recently. DS went into hospital on Wednesday for an operation on both knees. He came home yesterday and is doing well but is not really able to get around the house without help. I'm the one staying at home looking after him most of the time, so I'm hoping that will give me more time to play catch up too. :)
Hope you have a great weekend and have time to do something creative.
Thanks for visiting!

My poor neglected blog! I feel so bad for not blogging and for not commenting on any blogs but time just ran away with me this last week. It was all good though. You see, it was my birthday about four weeks ago and my DH told me for my present I could have a scraproom make over.  Now, it was all a very exciting thought but if you could see what my scrap space looked like before, you would understand why I was a bit reluctant to start. On Saturday, the 11th I woke up at 6 am and couldn't get back to sleep... so all these ideas started to form in my head. By the time DH woke up, I was dressed and ready to take on the world! Lol! We were planning a nice relaxing weekend.  I started measuring up and after waiting for DH to shower and have breakfast, we were off to Ikea. By Saturday evening all  the new furniture were assembled and by Sunday it looked like a tornado hit our house. There was stuff everywhere!! We had to empty the two big stationary cabinets to move it. It took me all week last week to find a place for everything but I had heaps of fun! Just for the record... my hubby is the best! :)

Now, enough chatter about my adventures... lol! Don't want to bore you all after being absent for so long. I really just wanted to share a layout I finished over the weekend. I'm participation in the Scrapbooking Top 50 June CC and this is for the lovely Sarah's challenge. We had to include some hidden journalling and some enchanted flora on our layout. :)
I just love this Dusty Attic 'Vine' chippie! The pattern papers and embellies are from an old range of K & Company called Wild Saffron that were in my stash for a while. The felt flowers and bugs are gorgeous and the colours are just great for outdoor pics.
My hidden journalling under the word 'Laugh'.
I've used a bit of calico under my chippie word. Really like the effect. :)
That's all for today. Lol! Almost missed my Monday post again. :)
Hope you have a wonderful week. Thanks for visiting!
Until next time.

I love MME Lime Twist!!

Just want to share this layout I did today using my DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne. It is full of MME Lime Twist 'Out of the Blue' yumminess! I'm entering this layout into the 'Bird is the Word' challenge. This time you have to use the word Life/Live/Living on your title.
A close up of the gorgeous Scrapware chippies.
I've backed my photo on canvas and added a bow in Green Tara Paper string.
Its almost weekend! Hope you have a good one... and to everybody who is fortunate enough to go to the expo in Brisbane this weekend... Have fun!!
Thanks for visiting! Until next time!

Such a relaxed and lazy Monday...

I almost missed my Monday post!  Lol! Since I always seem to do a Monday post, I almost missed it this week. It's a public holiday here in Western Australia and it was very different from my usual Monday. I managed to get some washing done but not much else. DH did a afternoon barbeque and the rest of the day we all pretty much chilled. DS is off writing his first exam at Uni for the semester (they don't seem to care about public holidays or late night exams!). DD is starting with her Year 11 exams tomorrow, so the kids were working very hard today.I've done my first layout with my DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne. I was lucky enough to get the gorgeous MME Lime Twist 'Out of the Blue' collection. The diecuts and stickers that come with this range are just beautiful!
The pics are of DH and DS. At 17 (when the pics were taken) DS had outgrown his dad already and was very proud of it. We are by no means a 'short' family and I am now the second shortest of the 4 of us! DD is not far behind either. ;)

I've entered this layout into the Colors Combo Galore Challenge #195 as the colours of these papers were just perfect for the challenge.
I've handcut a few clouds to go with the theme.
Just love those gorgeous mini alphas that comes with these papers!
Using that Tim Holtz flower diecut again, this time with denim and that little white flower was cut from canvas. And yes, there's that MS frond punch again! :)
Well, better go and fold some washing and get something useful done before bedtime! Hope you are all having a great week so far!
Thanks for stopping by and for your awesome comments!

New sketch and Massive Stocktake Sale at Handmade by Suzanne!

Hi there scrappy friends! It's a beautiful day in Perth today. The sun is shining, the birds are singing... you get the idea. :) We've had rain for the last 4 days, so just a bit excited about seeing the sun.
Handmade by Suzanne's June sketch is up! It's another gorgeous sketch designed by Shell, our very own sketch designer.  Just load your take on the sketch in the HBS gallery by the 30th of June to be in the running for a $30 store voucher! Easy hey?!

Here is my take on it. I've used the MME Stella & Rose 'Mabel' range. I love everything MME! :)

I've cut the flower from hessian using a 'Tim Holtz' die cut and added one of my crocheted flowers and punched out leaves using my favourite MS frond punch.
And before I forget Handmade by Suzanne is having a MASSIVE STOCKTAKE SALE! You can check it out here! With 25 % off almost everything in store, you will be glad you did!
Thanks for visiting and I hope your weekend will be wonderful!
Until next time!
