August Sketch Challenge at The Scrapbook Store

Today I want to share the August Sketch Challenge at The Scrapbook Store with you. Even though I left it quite late, you still have plenty of time to enter. Lucky for me, August is a long month! ;)
My take on the sketch, using the new Maja Design 'Summer Crush' papers.  I've added some texture to my background using the Crafters Workshop 'Art Is' stencil and texture paste followed by Glimmer Mist for some colour.  I then added more interest by using Kaisercraft Texture stamps.
The flowers are a mixture of Prima and Green Tara mini roses with a bit of added seam binding.
The paper doilies were originally white and I coloured them up using Distress Inks.
I've used a 2 Crafty chipboard title as it was perfect for my photo. :)
All products are from The Scrapbook Store.  I hope you get a chance to play along. I would love to see your entries. There's a $40 store voucher up for grabs and it includes free postage. The winner gets determined by random draw, so anybody can win.  You have until the end of August to get your entries in. :)

That's all I have for today. Thank you so much for visiting. Have a beautiful week!
Until next time.

Bo Bunny 'Boardwalk' for The Scrapbook Store

Hi there scrappy friends. I have miserably failed at my attempt to blog more often. I have therefor decided not to make any promises anymore, but just to go with the flow. So, with that in mind I am going to share my July DT work for The Scrapbook Store, using the awesome Bo Bunny 'Boardwalk' collection.
The first layout is of my hubby and two of our friends on the beach. It was taken nearly 9 years ago while we were away for a weekend together.

The flowers are from Petaloo. Just looove them. :)
I have used the 'Drift' pattern paper from the collection for this background 'wood'. After cutting it into 'planks', I've cut the edges so it would look like it's broken with split ends. Then I smeared gesso over the background page before sticking the 'planks' down and followed with a bit of colour and some stamping.
I have used the Blue Fern Studios 'Notebook Frame' chipboard, which I painted first and then stamped over it using a script stamp from Bo Bunny.
A close up of some of the detail. Most of the elements on my layout are from the sticker sheet or the noteworthy die cuts.
The chipboard grass, anchor, shell, birds and ship's wheel is from Scrapmatts.  The were all painted in different colours to suit.
Then I made two cards using some of the pattern papers, stickers and die cuts.  The enamel dots are Doodlebug Sprinkles 'Glitter Tangerine'.
For this one I cut out six squares from the 'Boardwalk' sheet.

I was really digging in the archives for the next layout. The pic is of my two kids in 2005. They were still so young!
Just added a bit of hessian and muslin and the rest are from the 'Boardwalk' collection.
The 'sand' is Prills "I'm A-Maized" which I stuck down using X-Press It Clear Glue Gel.
Still delving in the archives with the next one! My lovely daughter playing on the beach in 2007. :)

I created the banner using stickers from the sticker sheet and all the other elements on the next pic are from the sticker sheet too.
More stickers, twine and a button. :)
Two little chipboard sailboats from Dusty Attic.
... and a chipboard 'Radiant sun' from Blue Fern Studios.
Not doing regular blog updates certainly result in very loooooooong posts when I eventually get around to it. Phew! I hope you made it this far.  If you did... well done and thank you so much for visiting my blog.
Until next time!
