Last post ...

...for the year. Yep. I think this is it. We are leaving tomorrow night and where I'm going there will be no/very limited internet connection. Sadly, I won't be able to scrap either. No space in my luggage for scrapping gear. Lol! At least I will have my camera with me. :)
Just wanted to share my last layout for the year with you. I've used the AC Dear Lizzy 'Enchanted' paper range for this one. I've done a bit of fussy cutting and used a couple of Martha Stewart punches. All products used are available here.
I love these pics of DD and I. She's such a sweetie. :)
And a couple of close ups.

Okay. I'm of to do some packing. I hope everybody will have a fabulous Christmas and New Year! Will 'see' you all in January! Mwah!!!

Do I have to?

Hi there all my bloggy friends. Woohoo, it's Friday! Just a tad happy about it being weekend. :)
Just want to share another layout I did with my DT kit this month. I've used the gorgeous 'Tinsel and Twig' range from The Girls Paperie but I deliberately did a non Christmas layout this time. The photos are of my DS during a recent photoshoot that my friend Kathy did for us. He did a lot of sighing and face pulling unaware that the camera was clicking away. Too funny! :)
All products used are available from Handmade by Suzanne.
A close up of my crocheted and felt-topped flower. (Couldn't resist putting at least one flower on my layout). :)
I've stitched my journalling strips onto the page and boy, did I have a lot of fun with that red paint! Must do that again soon...
That's all for now, but I'll be back with another layout and hopefully some cards soon. Hope you are having a fabulous weekend.
Take care.

Christmas Grinches?

Yes. It's that time of the year already and before you know it you will hear 'Jingle Bells' playing in every shop you walk into. To get us into the Christmas spirit we are all doing Christmas layouts at 'Handmade by Suzanne' this month. I've got to play with the 'Tinsel & Twig' range from The Girls Paperie. I love these papers and the sticker pad in this range is such great value for money. You can check it out here. I've also added some 'Flourish with a Bling' Metallic Vine and red pearls as well as a Basic Grey Bloomers fabric flower. I've stitched all along the lines and edges of my background paper to make it look more 'real'. There is a tiny bit of black in some of these papers but I tried to make more of a feature of this by adding black stitching and embellishments.
A close up of the stitcing and embellie cluster.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your families! Gotta go and get my DD from school.
Thanks for visiting my little blog. :)

Walkin on Sunshine...

Phew! I almost didn't get this one in on time. :)
Over at Lil Red Rocket they are celebrating their first birtday with a Sketch Challenge. Here is my take on Shell's gorgeous sketch.
A close-up of my embellie cluster. That cute little turtle, the blue start button and the butterfly were from an embellishment swap at Top 50 a couple of months ago. Thank you girls!
I've used the new Bella Boulevard 'Sunny Happy Skies' collection. Love the bright, happy colours of this range. The pics are my DD posing with an umbrella at the park.
Hope you are having a great weekend.
Until next time.

Family is the essence of life

Hi there scrappy friends. I hope you had a great weekend. I've managed to get another CC challenge done for Top 50. We had to include 3 handmade embellishments and some stitching and something gingham/check. I used one of Kaisercraft's new releases called "Homemade". OMG, I think this range is just fabulous. The 2 bigger flowers on my layout are from Prima and so is the butterfly. All the products used are available from 'Handmade by Suzanne'.
A close up of my embellie cluster which includes my homemade cork button and the green doily which is from the Etsy shop called Sweet Vintage.
My two handmade roses together with one of the gorgeous Prima flowers.
A close up on the title which includes some chippies of this range (and my gingham ribbon).
By the way, if you haven't visited Handmade by Suzanne's new site yet, make sure you do. Its so much bigger, better and faster than before and there are always some bargains waiting to be snatched up.
That's all for today. Hope you are all enjoying a relaxing evening with your families before the mad rush of a new week begins.
Thanks for visiting my blog.

Friends

I've done this layout for one of Top 50's CC challenges. The pattern papers are from Bella Blvd's new range called 'Hello Beautiful'. The colours are so bright and happy and I thought it was perfect for this pic of myself and Kathy (one of my besties). I've used that MS punch again... lol! can you tell how much I love it? All the pp's and that beautiful "bud 'n bow" ribbon are from 'Handmade by Suzanne'.
I hope you are all having a fabulous week. Thanks for visiting and for your lovely comments. They are all very appreciated.

Another 'Seaside' layout and some exciting news

My second layout using this amazing range from October Afternoon. All the products used are from 'Handmade by Suzanne'. The pic is of my DS, DD and a friend in 2006. Oh, how time flies. :)
I don't think I'm quite done with these papers yet. Everything is just taking so much longer because of the school holidays. Lol! Too many distractions. I'm behind on a lot of things, but I'm so enjoying the kids being at home.
Now for the exciting news! Handmade by Suzanne's guest design team member for October is Michelle Fowler and boy, is she good! Make sure you check out all her fabulous creations in the HBS Gallery during this month. Michelle has also created the sketch for the October challenge at HBS. You can find all the information here.
Have a great weekend everybody and thanks for popping by.

Sweet Summer...

... Well, maybe not quite yet. It did feel like summer in Perth earlier this week tho.
When I saw the October Afternoon 'Seaside' papers for this first time I knew it would be perfect for these photos of my DH when he was 2 years old. LOL! That wat a looooong time ago. Awwww! He was such a cutie. ;)
This is my first DT layout for Handmade by Suzanne for October.
I've cut out the silhouette of him running on the beach and attached it with double-side foam tape to 'lift' it. This range is so much fun and the Shape stickers and Letterpress alphas are so gorgeeus.
Here's a card I made with the left overs.
And a close up . :)
Suzanne is recieving loads of new products every week. You can check them out here. There is a huge SALE category too, with heaps of 'not so old' ranges going for a song. So why not go a grab yourself a bargain?
Thats all for today scrappy friends. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend with beautiful Spring weather.
Thanks for visiting! :)

3 Layouts to share...

Is it just me, or do you all get the feeling that things are really starting to speed up this time of the year. Its like there is even fewer hours in the day than usual. Lol! Maybe I'm just trying to fit more into the day that usual.
I do have a couple of layouts to share that I started on the weekend.
The first one is for one of Top 50's monthly challenges. This one was a scraplift challenge set by Sue. We got to scraplift a layout by Treens (one of Top 50's members) and had to include a Kraft cardstock base, smeared paint and a quote. I used a photo of my DD posing with a 'photo' of Steve Irwin at the Australia Zoo. I kept the layout quite simple. Smeared paint isn't normally my thing but I must admit I had fun with this one. Might try it again some time. ;)
The next one is for the September CC at Top 50. The challenge was set by Anthea and we had to base the layout on someone who has misheard or misquoted the lyrics to a song. We had to add some glitter/bling, stitching and use felt or fabric somewhere on the layout.
I've used a photo of my friend Sandra who told me recently that she just loves that new song 'I wanna be a fricken billionaire' and then went on singing it in a totally different tune. Heehee... We still laugh about it.
A close-up to show the stitching, felt flowers, etc.
Another one for the Top 50 CC challenge. This one was set by Vicki and we had to base the layout on the lyrics of an annoying song. The type they always play on the radio over and over again. My DH just hates the Mazda ad on TV, so I thought I would use that as my inspiration. My SIL bought a new Mazda 6 in 2004 and I never got around to scrapping the photos, so this was the perfect opportunity.
Wow, what a long post. Lol! I won't hold it against you if you didn't read it all. I promise it was suppose to be a quick one. :)
I hope you are all having a good week. Thanks for visiting.

September Sketch

I'm a bit late blogging the sketch challenge this month. The lovely September sketch for Handmade by Suzanne was created by Liz Weber. This month you can either create a card or a layout based on the sketch and enter it into the Gallery for a chance to win a $20 voucher. Why not give it a go?
Here is my take on it using some Crate 'Restoration' papers and Kaisercraft lace from HBS. The flower was crocheted by 'me'.
I've got some more scrappy stuff to share soon. LOL! Must just get myself organised and take some photos. Hope you are all having a great start to the week. :)

Just a note...

The Opening Night Challenge for Scrapbooking Top 50's September CC was to create a card or a layout smaller than 12 x 12 with music notes on it. It had to be individual notes. This is what I came up with.
Even though this challenge was due last night, there are still 4 other challenges to do and they are only due on Sunday, 26 September! There are some awesome prizes up for grabs too! If you would like to play along, check it out here.
I haven't been too creative this week, but hopefully that will change over the weekend. TGIF!! (lol) Have a great weekend!

Life on the farm

Now there is something not many of you would know about me... I grew up on a farm. And I loved every minute of it. This layout is all about how I miss the farm and 'the simple life'. The photo is my cousin and I. I'm the little one on the left. :)
I've used October Afternoon 'Fly a Kite' pattern papers, OA 'Farm Fresh' word stickers and OA Mini Market alpha stickers. The little windmill is from Scrap FX and the lace is from Kaisercraft. Al products used are available from "Handmade by Suzanne"
And a card I've made with the left over pattern papers and some more Kaisercraft lace, Green Tara paper string and that little tag is from Kaisercraft's 'paper tags and shapes'. These little tags are made to be used with the 'tag' and 'sentiments' stamps. How cool is that?
I hope you are all having a great weekend. Until next time. :)

September Crop @ Top 50

...starts on Monday. Why not come and join in the fun?

Monday, September 06, 2010

What's up?

Happy Monday everybody!! Hope you had a good weekend. I had a lovely but busy weekend and with Fathers Day and all didn't have too much time for scrapping. I have managed to finish off this layout I've started last week though. At first I struggled a bit with the fact that I was having so much pink on a layout with a boy in it... Lol, but I thought I could get away with it since I have a girl in the photo as well. I love this photo of my 2 teenagers. Not often you get them together in one photo these days. :)
I've used the Crate Paper ' Restoration' Collection for this and I've made my own cork embellies by sticking cork onto chipboard and cutting the shapes out on my Cuttlebug. All the products used are available at "Handmade by Suzanne".
A close-up of my embellie cluster. Love that Green Tara paper string.
That's all for now. I'm hoping to get a bit more scrapping done this week. Have a wonderful week!
Until next time.

I played with Prima

...and I think I'm in lurve. The new Prima goodies in store at 'Handmade by Suzanne' are to die for. I got to play with the new 'Annalee Collection' which I thought was perfect for this 1959 wedding photo of my mum. I don't normally do 'shabby' layouts but these pp's were so easy to work with. Lol, I surprised myself. The lace, flowers and butterflies are just all so beautiful. I've also added a pearl flourish from 'Flourish with a Bling'.

Handmade by Suzanne is just getting flooded with new goodies at the moment. So why not head over there to have a look. You will find all the new products here.
There is also a huge selection of product thats marked down between 30% and 50%, so why not go and find yourself a bargain.
Hope you are all having a great week. Until next time.

Scrappy stuff to share

I've got 2 layouts to share. The first one is my take on Anthea's Sketch Challenge over at Scrapbooking Top 50. I've used the Petal Pusher range from Bo Bunny for this. I love the bright colours of these pp's. The photos are of my DD and one of her best friends.
This one was for the Recipe Challenge set by Sue during the CC at Scrapbooking Top 50. I've used the 'Lucky Me' range from Little Yellow Bicycle here. The photos are of my DD and I before she went on her River Cruise in June. All products used for these layouts can be found here.
I hope you are all having a great weekend! Thanks for visiting and for your lovely comments. They are very appreciated.
Until next time. M xox

Stuck?! layout...

...using the August 15th sketch. I print out all the beautiful sketches form Stuck?! every month but don't seem to get around to doing one very often. I'm aiming to change that though. :)
I've used Kaisercraft 'Lush' pattern papers and embellies for this with added 'bud and bow' ribbon, half pearls, embroidery thread and AC 'Niki Riki' Thickers. You can find all the products at Handmade by Suzanne.
I always enjoy working with Sara's sketches and hope to do more in the very near future.

Oliver

It's turned out to be quit a week for us (again!). After complaining of tummy ache late on Sunday afternoon and hardly any sleep on Sunday night we landed up at the ED at Murdock hospital and DD (15) having her appendix removed at around 9.30 pm Monday night. Just in time too! She came home yesterday afternoon and all is going well. :) Lol, I think I had my fare share of surprises for a while.
I've got a couple of layouts to share that I've done for 'Handmade by Suzanne' using the Basic Grey 'Oliver' range. I love the colours in this range and the chipboard stickers are amazing! This is an old photo I had lying around and I thought these papers where perfect for it. The little 'Place, Date and Name' tickets are from Jenni Bowlin Studios and are perfect for recording those essential details on you layouts. All products can be found here.
I thought I'll get in early and make a Fathers Day card so long. Lol, its very unusual for me to be so organised.
This is the gorgeous sketch created by DT member, Natalie, for the 'August Sketch Challenge' at HBS. Why not give it a go? You can win a cool prize! Find the details here.
This is my take on it using 'Oliver' again. The photo is of my DS and my DH fooling around just before DS went to his Year 12 Ball.
Okies, that's all for today. Hope you are all having an awesome week and lots of time to scrap. Thanks for popping by and take care.

Up, Up and Away...

Hi everybody. I'm back with another layout and card I've scrapped over last weekend. Just haven't had time to blog again. :( Still trying to visit everybody else's blogs too and am slowly getting there...
This is another DT layout for HBS. I've used the 'Up, up and Away' range from Kaisercraft and an old photo of DD and I that was taken 13 years ago. I so miss her being so little. She's 15 now and although a lovely teenager, she's not 2 anymore. *huge sigh*
I love these pattern papers and the printed chipboard buttons and balloons are to die for. The little envelopes are just too cute too. All products used are available in store here.
A card made with the left over papers.
I hope you are all having a great week. Thanks for visiting and for all your lovely comments. It makes my day every time!
Take care.

I'm back...

I'm back at last! I can't tell you guys how good it feels. It's like I've been living someone else's life for the last month. Lol, it wasn't quite that bad... I'm just suffering from extreme scrapping withdraw!!! For everybody thats wondering what kept me so busy during the last 5 to 6 weeks, I'll give you a quick update. We bought a unit that was in serious need of a total make-over and everything happened so quick that there wasn't too much time to think. There were a lot of dust, very early mornings and late nights and too many tradesmen to remember. We are getting to an end now and hopefully the unit will be ready to go on the rental market by Monday next week. I just hope we can find a tenant soon... then we'll be able to relax a bit. All a bit too stressful for me.
Well, my 'boss lady' over at Handmade by Suzanne was all very understanding (Thanks Suzanne!) but its back to bussiness for me now and back to my DT responsibilities (and how I've missed it!!) I've done my first layout for HBS using the brand new Kaisercraft range called 'Hippy Girl'. I love the colours in this range and the printed chipboard and journalling tags are great. The very cute butterfly is from Jenni Bowlin. All products used are available here.

A card made from the left overs. And another Jenni Bowlin butterfly.
I promise I'll be back soon with more to share. I'm also planning on catching up on everybody's blogs by the weekend. Wish me luck!
Hope you are all having a wonderful week and thank you so much for visiting!
