Just some cards

Happy new week everyone! I can't believe a whole week has gone by since my last blog post! The clock is definitely ticking very fast in my world lately. Lol! Must be just this time of the year. :)
I have created a few cards (and tags) with the left overs from the MME 'All is Bright'  collection that I received in my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store this month.  I have so enjoyed working with this collection and I think I can safely say 'it's my favourite Christmas range this year'.
Can you believe that the doily was fussy cut from one of the pattern papers?  It's so beautiful and delicate and looks so real.
A little close up of the TSS chipboard 'Merry Christmas'.  It's perfect for cards and so easy to alter.  I've applied two coats of Glimmer Mist to mine.
For the next card I've fussy cut another image from one of the pattern papers.   I also love to use Kaisercraft Pearl strips on my cards.
I always admire the beautiful tags that some of my talented scrappy friends make, but have never actually tried to make any myself.  So, I decided it's time I have a go at it.  Here are the two tags that I managed to squeeze out.   I think I now have no paper remnants bigger than 2 x 2cm left! :)
 A close up 'side view'.
 ... and another one. :)
Before I go, I would like to share a fantastic give away by one of my scrappy friends, Kelly Foster.  It's her birthday today and she's giving this gorgeous pack of goodies away!  How awesome is that!  Please pop past her blog and follow the prompts to stand a chance to win.  You will find her post HERE.

That's all for today.  Hope you are all having a beautiful crafty time wherever you are.  Thank you so much for visiting me.
Until next time.

'All is Bright' layouts

Hi there everyone!  We had a very busy weekend but I managed to scrap 2 layouts in between the running around.  I think My Minds Eye is one of the few companies that allow me to do this, as I find that things fall into place so much easier with their beautiful papers and embellies.  As part of my DT kit for The Scrapbook Store this month, I received the gorgeous 'All Is Bright' paper collection.  I had a few photos from last Christmas that I wanted to use, so was very excited to get stuck in.  The pics on the first layout is of my friend's little girl.  As both our families have no other family living nearby, we always spend Christmas day together at Kings Park. A lovely tradition that I hope will last for years to come. :)
A close up of my title.  The word 'joy' was already on the paper, so I thought to use it as part of my title.
The layered stickers in this range are to die for. :)
I've added a bit of texture using my Crafter's Workshop 'Mini Harlequin' template with some Texture Magic.  Did you know that The Scrapbook Store carries a huge selection of washi tape?  I have used 2 different designs on here.
On my second layout I have used pics of my DD, taken on the same day (Christmas Day 2011).
The 'Holly Swirl' is from Kaisercraft and the flower cluster has a mixture of Prima, Manor HouseTSS Mulberry paper roses, Green Tara mini roses and Kaisercraft Mini paper blooms.  The leaves were made using my Martha Stewart ''Branch' punch.
I just love all the little bits you can fussy cut from these pattern papers. :)
That's all for today.  I hope you are slowly getting into the Christmas spirit.  I must admit that I find it very hard to get excited when the shops put all the decorations up in August! :O  Lol! By the time Christmas arrives, I'm already all Christmassed out. :)
Thank you for visiting. I hope you have a lovely week.  I still have loads of beautiful blogs to visit, so see you around the www! :)
Until next time.

More 'For The Record 2'

Hi there lovely people!  Hope you are all well and enjoying a great week. :)  I have created another layout with my gorgeous DT kit from The Scrapbook Store that I want to share with you.  This one is of hubby and I during a recent holiday.  Now I'm not 100% sure that I love how this turned out, but it's growing on me. Lol!
I really love the earthy tones of the Echo Park 'For The Record 2 - Documented' collection.  Great for seaside shots. :)
A close up of my little corner cluster.
And a close up of my title.  I searched the net the other day and found this lovely quote.  Thought it would be great with this pic of us.
That's it!  Nothing more to share. Lol!  I hope to change that soon.  In the meantime, I will do my rounds to my favourite blogs over the next few days to see what you've been up to.
Thank you for popping by and for your lovely comments.  They are very much appreciated.
Until next time.

Special Times

Hi everyone! It's turning into summer here in Perth.  Yesterday we had a 30 degree day!  Not sure I'm quite ready for the really hot weather though.  It does mean that I stay indoors more to avoid the heat, which generally makes for more scrappy time. :)
So, I've decided to play along with Sketch #10 at Scrap Africa this month.
Here is my take on the sketch using my October DT kit from The Scrapbook Store.  I loved the original 'For the Record' collection from Echo Park, so when I saw them bringing out a 'For The Record 2' range, I was very excited. Everything used on this layout is from the 'Documented' collection with the exception of the lace trims from Kaisercraft, the paper flowers, ribbon and the paper doilies. It's not my usual colour palette, but I think I like it. :) The pic is of my two kids with my parents when they were visiting earlier this year. I have some hidden journalling on the tag sticking out just above the photo.
A layered chipboard piece from this collection and some gorgeous TSS Mulberry paper roses.
A little close up of the title using alphas from the sticker sheet.
I've used the Martha Stewart Monarch medium butterfly punch and some pearls to create the butterflies. :)
That's all I have to share today.  Thank you so much for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Until next time.

New sketch and great competition at The Scrapbook Store

Have you seen the great new Sketch Challenge at The Scrapbook Store? Nadia designs the most beautiful sketches and this one is no exception. Here is October's sketch.
Here is my example using the lovely Authentique 'Peaceful' collection.  The pic is of my DD while horse riding during our holiday in 2011.
A close up of the gorgeous Prima vine.  I've added a few extra flowers to make it a bit fuller.
The paddock fence is from Dusty Attic.  I've covered it in chocolate brown paint and just lightly touched it here and there with a bit of cream paint.  The cute little birdie is from one of the patterned papers from this collection.
A close up of the title.  I've run out of the letter 'e' so just cut around the 'shell' of one of the e's and used that instead. :)
I hope to see your take on this fabulous sketch in the Gallery soon.  There's a $40 store voucher with free postage up for grabs and the winner gets determined by random draw, which means... anyone can win!  BUT you've got be in it to win it! :)

Scrap The Girls October Challenge

I honestly cannot believe it's October already! Where has the year gone?  A new month means a new challenge at Scrap The Girls.  This month the challenge is to follow the following recipe:  Use flowers, 2 different alphas, more than one photo and some staples.  You can include any other products, but these 4 ingredients have to be clearly visible on your layout.  Pretty easy hey?
Here is my example.
The photos are of DH's only sibling, his younger sister, when she was about one year old.  I just love these cute pics of her and thought that the Prima 'Tea-Thyme' collection would be perfect for it.  The colours in this range is just so soft and pretty. Perfect for vintage or girly photos.  The little Prima resin bird bath and birdies are just too sweet. :)
All the flowers, leaves and wooden buttons are from Prima too, with the exception of the mini pink Kaisercraft paper blooms.  The pearl flourish is also from Kaisercraft too.
The wooden heart buttons are from Prima and there are my 2 staples just above the top one.
This layout just called out for a bit of lace and pearls. :)

I hope you will get a chance to play along with this fun challenge this month.  You have until the end of October to get your entry in.
Thanks for visiting!
Until next time.
