A few Carta Bella cards

Happy Friday everyone!  Hope you are having a good one. Just want to share a couple of cards I made using the left overs of my DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne.  I played with the beautiful Carta Bella 'Beautiful Moments' collection this month and I loved every minute of it. My cards are quite plain and nothing fancy, but that's just how I like it.
I used my Martha Stewart 'Doily Lace' punch for the first 2 cards. Just love how feminine it makes it.  The birdies in this collection are really cute. :)
The idea for the next card is unfortunately not my own idea. I got it off Pinterest. The butterfly was cut using the Cheery Lynn Designs 'Butterfly' die.  Love how it turned out.
The rose on this one is one of the element stickers from this range that I stuck onto cardstock, then cut around it and 'lifted' it using foam tape.
That's all for now.  Don't forget that you still have until the end of the month to participate in the July Sketch Challenge at Handmade by Suzanne.  There is a $40 store voucher up for grabs and the winner gets determined by a random draw! BUT you have to be in it to win it.  Here is a reminder of what the sketch looks like.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog.  Have a wonderful weekend!
Until next time.

Everlasting love

Hi there everyone! Hope you are having a lovely weekend. I'm just popping in to share another layout I created with my DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne
I have based my layout on Sketch #7 over at Scrap Africa.  It's a great challenge site that I've recently discovered through a couple of my scrappy friends.  Here is the sketch.
I am totally in love with the Carta Bella 'Beautiful Moments' collection. The photo is of my parents when they were visiting earlier this year. They were married for 53 years in January and are still going strong. Such an inspiration. :)
I've recently purchased the MFT Die-namics 'Royal Rose' die and tried it out on here. (Love it!!) Also added a Green Tara Mini rose,  leaves using my Martha Stewart 'Rose Leaf' punch and Green Tara 'Natural Jute' ribbon.
Also gave my Lifestyle Crafts Hexagon Dies a bit of a work out. :)
and have used my Crafters Workshop 'Mini Art Is' template again.
Don't forget that you still have until the end of the month to enter the sketch challenge at Handmade by Suzanne. There is a $40 store voucher plus free postage up for grabs.  All you have to do is enter. You can find all the information here.
That's all for now.  Thank you so much for visiting.
Until next time.

Cute

Hi there everyone! Hope you've all had a great weekend and managed to stay warm (or cool if you are in the northern hemisphere).  Everything is pretty calm in my household at the moment, so I'm enjoying it while it lasts. :)
The 15th July sketch is now up at Stuck Sketches and it's another beauty!
Here is my example as Guest DT member for July  Now tell me you can look at that little face and not think he's cute. This little guy belongs to a friend of mine and he is just so adorable. :)
I've used one of my favourite MME collections called 'Follow Your Heart'.  Love my twine and those 'love birds' from Scrapmatts are so cute. :)
The little wooden Kaisercraft 'Pennyfarthing' looks really fun dressed up in buttons. :)
The hot air balloon is from Scrapmatts too.
I had a lot of fun using Sara's sketches and loved being Guest DT member for July. Thanks again for asking me Sara. :)
It would be really great to see your take on this lovely sketch over at Stuck.  There are some great prizes up for grabs.  To get all the details and to see all the other CT members beautiful examples, go over HERE
Would you like to be on the CT for Stuck Sketches?  Then you should apply now as they are having a Creative Team Call.  To get all the information on how to apply, go here
That's all for today.  Thank you so much for visiting my blog.  Hope you have a great week!
Until next time.

More 'Beautiful Moments'

I've had this layout sitting on my desk for quite a few days now, but only got around to finishing it this morning.  School holidays are in full swing here and it's also the last week of uni holidays before Semester 2 starts.  It seems like I'm somehow involved in these holidays, as I have less time to get creative. Lol!
I've created this layout with my July DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne and I was determined to do a 'boy' layout with the gorgeous Carta Bella 'Beautiful Moments' collection.  I am entering it into the White With One July challenge, as the criteria is "White + Polka Dots + Tape".  This is how it turned out.
The pic is of DS while we were on holiday in April this year.    I have used two Crafters Workshop templates called 'Mini Chickenwire Reversed' and 'Tile Texture'.  The branch that's peeping out under my flowers were cut using the Momory Box 'Woodland Branch' Die.
...and I've used some 'Black Chevron' washi tape.
I've already go some ideas for a next layout using these beautiful papers.  Thankfully there's a weekend in sight!
Thank you for visiting and I hope you have a lovely weekend.
Until next time.

The final touch

I have been trying to do this post since around 2 pm this afternoon, but everytime I'm sitting down to do it, somebody needs me or something happens and I have to get up again.  Let's hope this time I manage to complete it. :) It was a beautiful day in Perth today. A bit cool, but sunny. :)  Hope you had a good day too, wherever you are. :)
Just want to share a layout I created using my July DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne.  I received the beautiful new Carta Bella 'Beautiful Moments' collection this month. If you haven't seen this new paper range yet, make sure you check it out. It's gorgeous!  The photo is of my DD receiving here corsage from her date just before her Year 12 Ball a few months ago.
A close up of the pretty wooden Kaisercraft frame and the Zva Creative flourish.
A couple of Kaisercraft Mini Paper blooms and the leaves were made using my Martha Stewart 'rose leaf' punch.  I've used the Crafters Workshop Mini 'Art Is' template and an inkpad to create the 'script' under my title.
I have entered this layout into 'Vicki's Initial Challenge' at Scrapbooking Top 50's July CC.  You can see all the challenges here.  Why not play along?  You've got until next Sunday, 15 July, to get your entries in. :)
That's all for today. Will be back later in the week to show you my next layout using this gorgeous range.  Thank you for visiting and for you lovely comments. I love reading them.  Have a great week!
Until next time.

SCRAP THE GIRLS' July Challenge

I've got so much to share lately! Lol! Must mean I've been busy creating... and I'm loving it.  The challenge at Scrap The Girls this month is to use Black, White and 'one other colour' on your layout.  Pretty easy, hey?  Just remember, ONLY girls allowed.  You can see all the other CT members' gorgeous examples HERE.
Here is my example.  And I had to use red, of course. :)
A close up of some of my embellies.  Love the Prima 'Shabby Chic' Resin Treasures. The flowers are mini paper blooms from Kaisercraft and I finally got to use some of my Tim Holtz film strip that's been in my stash for ages.
The acetate frame is from Teresa Collins that has also been hiding in my stash for a while.
Used one of my Martha Stewart 'die cut lace tags' and a Memory Box die to cut the red doily.
The stamp I used is from Kaisercraft. Love their texture stamps and they are so well priced too. :)
I hope you are all going to give this challenge a go!  There are some great prizes up for grabs!
That's all for today.  Will be back sometime over the weekend with my first DT layout with my kit from Handmade by Suzanne.
Until then... happy scrapping!

July Sketch Challenge at HBS

Hi there everyone!  I hope you are having a great week so far.  Perth has been pretty cold during the nights, but the days have been beautiful.  Such a pity there is something like housework otherwise I would spend my days outside in the sun. :)
The July sketch is up at Handmade by Suzanne and its another beautiful design by Nadia Cannizzo.
I used the Kaisercraft 'Sweet Nothings' collection and I must admit that this is one of my all time favourites from Kaisercraft.  I just love the subtle colours and gorgeous designs.  The pic is of my DD while we were on holiday in April this year.
A little cluster of Prima flowers and leaves, Kaisercraft wooden small birdcage, seam binding, Kaisercraft mini paper blooms and a Zva Creative pearl flourish.  The butterfly is from Pink Paislee.
The 'Collectables' in this range is just beautiful!
I've use the Crafters Workshop  'Mini Chickenwire reversed' template and an ink pad for my background.
I hope you will give this gorgeous sketch a go.  There is a $40 store voucher up for grabs and the winner gets determined by random draw, so anyone can win!  You can see the other DT members beautiful inspiration in the gallery.
That's all for today.  Thank you so much for visithing and have a wonderful week!
Until next time.

A new month and some exciting news!

Can you believe its July already?  Where did the first 6 months of the year go? Lol! I really hope the last half of the year slows down a bit.
It's a new month and I have some exciting news to share. The very lovely Sara from 'Stuck?! Sketches' has asked me to be the Guest Designer for July and of course I agreed. I love Sara's sketches and try and play along as often as I can.  You can see the announcement and the new challenge for July (with the rest of the CT's gorgeous examples) HERE.
This is the 1st of July sketch:
And here is my example.  I've adjusted the sketch slightly to suit my 12 x 12 format.  Love the circle design. I've used the new My Minds Eye collection called 'Indie Chic'.  The pic is of my DD who turned 17 on Friday.  She has a beautiful caring nature and I just love her to bits.
A few close ups.  I've cut the circles out of the background paper, inked around the inside edge and then added my contrasting pattern paper from the back.  Added some stitching for added texture and a bit of extra touch. :)
I thought the buttons were perfect for this design. :)
And a final close up of some of the other circles and title. :)
Hope to see you all play along with this sketch.  It's so easy to intepret in many different ways, as you will see from the examples of the Creative Team.  You have until the last day of July to link your entry to the side bar of the Stuck?! Sketches blog to be in the running for one of this month's sponsor vouchers.
That's all for today.  I'll be back in a day or two with more July layouts to share.
Thank you for visiting my blog and for your lovely comments.
Until next time.
