A Grand Chat and a card

Hi there everyone! It's quite late here in Perth, but I thought to quickly squeeze a blog post in as my weekend is going to be pretty full on!  My 'little' girl is turning 18 on Saturday and we are having a party! So lots of organising and things to do.  I am hoping that things will start returning back to 'normal' (whatever that means!) next week.  June was such a hectic month for us!
Lol!  I'm certainly not here to complain, but rather to share more layouts!
For both the layout and card, I have used my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store.  I started the layout out with a piece of Kraft cardstock and used the Crafters Workshop 'Confetti' stencil and Atelier 'Heavy White Gesso' to create the background. The papers are all from the Kaisercraft 'Porcelain Rose' collection.  I love this photo of my DS and my MIL (his granny).  They were sitting on this bench in the park (while we were on an outing) just chatting away. So sweet. :)
Finished it off with a bit of twine and a Green Tara Mini rose.
I've used the rubons from the Porcelain Rose collection in several places on my page. :)  The red hearts were just dry-brushed on using red paint and the same stencil.
Love me bits of Washi tape. :)
And a card using some of my left-over papers.  My DD asked me to make a card for her boyfriend's mum's birthday this weekend. This is just using papers and stickers from the Porcelain Rose collection.  Teamed them up with some Green Tara Mini roses and leaves punched with my Martha Stewart 'Rose leaf' punch.  I've purchased the white oval frame from the Manor House stand while at the Expo in Brisbane earlier this month. The 'Happy Birthday' chipboard is from the TSS chipboard collection.  I heat embossed it using the Stampendous 'Frantage Embossing powder kit'. Love the shabby colours.
That's all I have for today.  I think I'll be off to bed now, as there are lots of work awaiting me in the morning. :)  Thank you so much for popping in and for all your lovely comments.  I appreciate it so.
Have a beautiful weekend!  See you next week!
Until next time.

'Porcelain Rose' layouts

Oh dear, it seems like I haven't really been improving on the blog front hey? :( I have a lot going on at the moment... a few health issues and a 18th birthday party to plan for this coming Saturday. I have managed to scrap a few pages with my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store, so that must be good thing!
I have been using the 'Porcelain Rose' collection from Kaisercraft this month.  In this first layout I have used pics of me on my 4th birthday. :)
My flower cluster consists out of a combination of flowers from Petaloo, Manor House and Green Tara.  The leaves/vines were cut using the Memory Box 'Fresh Foliage' die.
The lace is from Green Tara too and the flower trim from my stash. :)
The chipboard is TSS chipboard and the paper doily is from Bo Bunny.
In the next layout I have used a pic of my DH and his sister and mum.  I thought the papers were great for an outdoorsy feel.
The chipboard title is from WOW.
I have made another layout and card using this collection, but still have to photograph it.  So, I think this is all for today.  Hope you are having a wonderful week. Thank you so much for visiting.
Until next time!

Stencils, Paint and Paste

Hi everyone!  It's been 10 days since my last blog post!  I must add that I had the most amazing time in the meantime. ;)  My friend, Suzanne and I flew to Adelaide to meet with a wonderful scrappy friend (and fellow DT member), Belinda Spencer.  We spent the day in Adelaide and flew off to Brisbane on Friday night to attend the Scrapbooking and Papercraft Expo over the weekend. We managed to fit in 3 classes on Friday and Saturday.  I will share those projects with you soon. I also had the priviledge to meet quite a few of my online friends for the first time IRL!  Amongst them were the gorgeous Leanne Allinson and Lindy Gillespie (also fellow DT members). What beautiful souls.  Also met up with Kim Jeffress, Cathy Cafun, Chantalle McDaniel (crazy girl!!), Karen Shady, Heather McMahon, Beck Beattie and Monica Brady... just to mention a few.  What a blast!  I returned home late on Monday night, absolutely exhausted, but it was so worth it!

Onto some actual scrapbooking now. :) There is a wonderful new challenge up at Scrap AfricaUse texture paint or modelling paste, either with a mask or stencil or free hand and any other wet medium like paint or mists etc.

The CT members have done an amazing job to provide you with plenty of inspiration. You can see all their examples HERE.
Here is my example.  The photo is of my MIL on a recent holiday with us. There were these beautiful rose gardens at one of the wineries we visited.  My SIL took this pic of her mum. :)
I have used 3 different coloured mists to create my background and then used the Crafters Workshop 'Mini Bricks' template and some Texture Magic behind my photo.  I also put a bit of muslin behind the photo to soften things a bit..

I have sprayed the same mist that I used on my background (Heidi Swapp Color Shine ' Georgia Peach') onto AC DIY Thickers for the word 'smell' and the white alphas were cut on my Silhouette machine.

The metal frame is from Maya Road and the 'simple pleasures' chipboard word is from the TSS chipboard collection.  My flower cluster is a mixture of Petaloo, Manor House and Green Tara.

The gorgeous butterfly is from my gorgeous scrappy friend Kim Price. I was fortunate enough to meet Kim at our recent retreat. Thanks Kim!
Well, that's it for today. I hope you get a chance to play along with this lovely challenge.  You have until the end of the month to get your entries in.
Thank you so much for visiting!  Wishing you a wonderful week!
Until next time.

Scrap The Girls - 'Winter Colours'

Hi everyone! This is a 1 am post, as I am trying to fit everything in before I leave tomorrow. A friend and I are going to the Scrapbook and Paper Craft Expo in Brisbane on the weekend. We are leaving a day early to go via Adelaide to meet with a very lovely friend.  I am so excited!! :)
So, it's busy busy busy!!  I still need to share the June challenge at Scrap The Girls with you.  This month it all about Winter Colours. You can read all about it and see all the fabulous examples from the CT girls HERE.
My example:
The paper range is Glitz Design 'Yours Truly' and those beautiful turqoise flowers are from Petaloo.
 Another little close up. :)
Love the Crafters Workshop 'Mini Cubist' template. I've used it here with some Texture Magic.
Okay, that all for now.  I better go and get some sleep. :) Thank you for visiting. Have a beautiful weekend!
Until next time.

June Sketch at The Scrapbook Store

This month we have another gorgeous sketch from PageMaps at The Scrapbook Store. Here it is!
And here is my DT example.  I've used the new My Minds Eye 'Find Your Wings & Fly' collection.  It's such a fun range. :)
A close up of some of the sticker elements that come with this range. :)
Can I tell you a secret?  Shhhh... My clouds weren't planned at first.  It was an emergency plan to cover up a stencilled butterfly that went wrong!  Don't tell anyone. :)
Why not give the sketch a go? You can win a cool $40 store voucher with free postage!  The winner gets determined by random draw, so anyone can win!  You have until the end of the month to get your entry in.  Just upload into the gallery HERE.
That's all for today! Thanks for visiting. Hope you have a great week!
Until next time.

June Sketch at Scrap Afica

Hi everyone!  It's a new month and that brings new challenges.  Scrap Africa's June sketch is up and the DT girls have done a fabulous job providing you with wonderful inspiration.

Here is my example.  I've used the Kaisercraft 'On This Day' collection with loads of Prima flowers and a few Kaisercraft mini paper blooms.  All the leaves were punched out using the Martha Stewart 'frond' punch. The photo is of my mum and her dad at the end of the aisle on her wedding day in 1959.  I love scrapping these old pics. :)
Some close ups of the flowers. :)
... and the title using some Prima fabric alphas.
I hope you will play along with us this month.  It would be great to see your interpretation!
We have a long weekend in Western Australia with Monday being a public holiday! I am looking forwatd to spend more time with the family as I was away all last weekend.
Thank you so much for popping by and I hope you have a fabulous weekend!
Until next time!
