Hi there blog friends. It's been a long time since my last blog post and I apologise. I really have no excuse, except for that life has been getting in the way of my scrappy time lately. A few niggly health issues and a few other issues... nothing too serious.
So without further ado, here is my latest project.
This month I received the gorgeous Couture Creations 'Vintage Rose Garden' collection in my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store. I've decided to alter a cigar box which I intend using as a
jewelery box.
This is a view of the lid. I've used the Blue Fern Studios 'Bordeaux Layered Frame' chipboard which I painted in off-white and then inked the edges using Tim Holtz Distress inks. The background has been treated with a bit of texture paste using the Crafters Workshop mini 'Art Is' stencil. The flowers are Petaloo burlap blooms, Petaloo mini wild roses, Prima flowers and Green Tara mini roses. The leaves are also from Green Tara.
A close up of the front. I've added some lace around the edge of the lid and repeated some of the same flowers in the left bottom.
The inside of the box. I've lined the bottom with felt and the added a little saying from one of the pattern papers.
A close up of the inside of the lid. More Petaloo blooms and Green Tara mini roses and leaves.
Another close up of the top of the box. The word 'Dream' is a mini chipboard wordlet from WOW and I've heat embossed it using Stampendous Frantage 'Shabby Pink Rose' embossing powder.
That's all for now. I am currently working on another project using these gorgeous papers. Will hopefully be ready to share soon. Thank you so much for popping by. Have a wonderful week!
Until next time.

Scrap Africa Challenge No 28
Hi everyone! It's the middle of the month and with that comes a new challenge at Scrap Africa. It's all about Distressing with a Difference this month. The distressing needs to be done with household items and you need to tell us what you''ve used in your blog post.
I have used the beautiful Prima 'Something Blue' collection from The Scrapbook Store for my example layout. The photos are of my friend's little guy. Isn't he just the cutest?. :)
My distressing was achieved using masking tape, a torn cardboard box, tea on some of the flowers and the muslin, and all the paper edges were distressed using a pair of scissors. Here's a close up of my flower cluster which includes the muslin and ink distressed cardstock leaves.
The big calico flower was cut using a die and then distressed using tea. The flair badge is from the Prima 'Everyday Vintage' collection. I've added torn strips of masking tape to add to the distressed look.
I've used the Tim Holtz 'Bubble' stencil with some texture paste on the background and more torn masking tape and a piece of torn cardboard box.
Strips of hessian and pattern paper for added texture. The small wood veneer scrap words are from the TSS chipboard collection.
And finally, a wood veneer title from WOW.
I hope you will take up the challenge and search through your cupboards to see what you can use to distress your layout. You have until the end of April to get your entries in. For more information and to see the rest of the DT's awesome examples, have a look HERE.
Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a wonderful Easter weekend!
Until next time.

Hi everyone! I haven't been around for ages, but I do have something to share today. Scrap Africa has a new sketch and its gorgeous! To see all the beautiful creations from the rest of the Design Team and Guest designers, have a look HERE.
I have used my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store for my take on the sketch. All the papers, the black ornate frame and the flowers are from Manor House Creations. :)
I've added a piece of old pizza box for a bit of added texture. ;) The title is a wood veneer word from WOW. I've used Stampendous 'Aged Teal' embossing enamel on it and then added some more teal ink afterwards.
I love my new Memory Box 'Worn Out Alpha' stencil. I've used texture paste mixed with Shimmerz Paints Dazzlers 'Liqorice Stick' over the stencil.
My flower cluster using Manor House flowers in all different shapes, colours and sizes.

MME Cut & Paste 'Flair' layouts
Hi everyone and happy October to you all! It's almost unbelievable but September came and went in the blink of an eye. I was always of the opinion that once the year hits September, the clock starts ticking twice the speed until after Christmas! Lol!
I totally ran out of time to share my last 2 layouts for The Scrapbook Store. I was lucky enough to get one of the new MME Cut & Paste collections in my DT kit for September. This one is called 'Flair' and I totally loved working with it. :)
Here they are.
This is my son after he got his first pair of glassed about 2 years ago. It always is a challenge for me not to use flowers on my layouts, but I had great fun with this one. I've used Dusty Attic 'Chicken Wire' chipboard, which I first coated in Gesso using my finger. I then randomly dabbed a bit of black ink on it, covered it in random spots with glue before sprinkling Distress Glitter over the glue. The cogs are wood veneer pieces from WOW.
A bit of stencil work using a WOW 6 x 6 Alta Matz 'Chevron flowers' stencil and some Texture Magic.
The little man in the corner as well as my title were cut using my Silhouette Cameo machine.
Just a little owl from my stash and a wood veneer speech bubble from WOW.
The second layout is of my daughter and hubby posing for 'selfies' at her Year 12 Dinner last year. Lol! You can't take them anywhere! I based this layout on the MME sketch for September.
Some of the stickers in this collection and some washi tape.
I've used a Petaloo and Green Tara flowers for my cluster and the leaves were punched out using the Martha Stewart 'frond' punch.
The title is an old rubon from my stash. I've created a bit of texture using several Crafters Workshop templates with Texture Magic and black Shimmerz Dazzlers Paint.

All romantic with MME Cut & Paste 'Flair'
Hi there everyone! I hope you are having a lovely Sunday afternoon. It's been another beautiful day in Perth, so I can't complain. :) I've had a play with my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store last night. It's packed with the gorgeous MME Cut & Paste 'Flair' collection. I've decided to use a photo of hubby and I taken on his 50th birthday in January this year. I love the black chalkboard background of this paper.
A little close up. The stickers in this collection are gorgeous too. I've used the new WOW Alta Matz 'Chevron Flowers' stencil to create some texture. These stencils are quite thick and gives a lovely 3D effect when you use texture pastes, or in this case Atelier 'Heavy White Gesso Primer'. I added the pink by spraying a bit of Heidi Swapp 'Primrose' mist on a piece of paper and just wiping it over the top of the gesso with my craft knife.
My title is a chipboard 'wordlet' from Scrap FX. I've inked it first, then covered it in X-Press It 'Clear Glue', then sprinkled some of the brand new Ranger Ink 'Distress Glitter' over the top of it. (I used colour 'Spun Sugar'). Once dried, I sprayed a few coats of Helmar 'Crystal Kote' over the top of it. I used the Crafters Workshop 'Confetti' stencil and rubbed some glue over the little hearts and covered it with glitter too. I love the subtle shiny colour it adds. :)
That's all for now. I hope to be back with some more layouts soon. Thank you for visiting and have a wonderful day/afternoon!
Until next time.

August sketch at The Scrapbook Store
Hi everyone! Spring is definitely in the air here in Perth today. It's a beautiful sunny day! My DD and I went for walk this morning and it was great to just enjoy the lovely fresh air.
If you haven't seen the August Sketch over at The Scrapbook Store yet, then you're missing out! Melinda Spinks has designed another gorgeous sketch and the DT girls have done a fabulous job in the different ways they've interpreted it. Just go and look in the gallery here.
Here's the sketch.
And here is my take on it. I've used the MME Find your Wings and Fly 'Up & Away' collection. As most of you would know already... I love MME! :) The photo is an older one of my DD, taken in December 2007. Lol! I've got a thing for older photos these days!
I've used the Crafter Workshop 'Mini Art Is' template with some Texture Magic. The doily is from Bo Bunny and the title is from the fabric alpha set of the Prima 'Divine' range.
I used a few different washi tapes and this cute little wood veneer bicycle from WOW.
Also played around with some mists, inks and the Crafters Workshop 'Mini Punchinella' template
And another little close up. :)

Teresa Collins 'Family Stories'
Hi there everybody! Long time no 'see'. I've been busy behind the scenes, working and creating whenever I get a moment. I just haven't had a chance to blog, so got more than usual to share today. This month my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store contained the beautiful Teresa Collins 'Family Stories' collection. Here is what I did with it. :)
The first layout is of DS and I.
Love this washi tape with the cute little hearts. The chipboard under the 'This was awesome' sticker is 2 Crafty 'Chevron Bits'.
The stars are from the decorative buttons packet. The chipboard title is from WOW and the flair badge is from The Greatest View, available from The Scrapbook Store here.
For the next layout I used a family pic taken in January 2008.
Used another flair badge from The Greatest View. :)
The blue hearts were created by using one of the glitter borders and the MFT 'Layered Hearts Border' die.
The small hearts are the insides of the heart strip.
Altered the layered sticker a bit by adding another layer or two.
That's all I have for today. Thank you so much for visiting today. Hope you have lovely weekend.
Until next time!

More Websters 'Plum Seed'
Hi everyone. Hope your week started well. I created another layout with my July DT kit from The Scrapbook Store. This time I used a photo of the whole family. :) The Websters Pages 'Plum Seed' collection is really versatile!
A beautiful Manor House fine. I love the dark teal colour. :)
The title is a WOW chippie. I thought it would be perfect for the pic. I painted it with an old Making Memories paint I've had for years. The colour matched so well.

'Porcelain Rose' layouts
Oh dear, it seems like I haven't really been improving on the blog front hey? :( I have a lot going on at the moment... a few health issues and a 18th birthday party to plan for this coming Saturday. I have managed to scrap a few pages with my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store, so that must be good thing!
I have been using the 'Porcelain Rose' collection from Kaisercraft this month. In this first layout I have used pics of me on my 4th birthday. :)
My flower cluster consists out of a combination of flowers from Petaloo, Manor House and Green Tara. The leaves/vines were cut using the Memory Box 'Fresh Foliage' die.
The lace is from Green Tara too and the flower trim from my stash. :)
The chipboard is TSS chipboard and the paper doily is from Bo Bunny.
In the next layout I have used a pic of my DH and his sister and mum. I thought the papers were great for an outdoorsy feel.
The chipboard title is from WOW.

December Sketch at The Scrapbook Store
Hi everyone! I'm back from a very enjoyable and relaxing week long break in Bali with my girl and her best friend and her mum. We did some shopping, relaxing, had a few massages and ate some great food! But now it's back to reality and with Christmas around the corner, I think reality is going to hit pretty hard! Lol! I am so not ready yet. :)
For now, I want to share the December Sketch at The Scrapbook Store with you. It's another gorgeous sketch designed by Nadia. If you find a bit of time to be creative (in the midst of you Christmas planning), why not give it a go? You can win a cool $40 store voucher!
Okay, back to the sketch.
My take on it. I've used an older collection from Authentique, called 'Gathering'. The pic is of my hubby fishing in the shallow waters while on holidays earlier this year. :)
The flowers are from Prima and the resin flowers from Kaisercraft. I have also used my Poppy Stamps 'Lorelai Leaf' Die to cut a few extra leaves.
I have used a WOW chipboard word for my title. Just coated it with some Glimmer Mist.
I hope you will find some time to play along. You can find the gallery full of inspiration from the rest of the DT here. Oh, and before I forget.... The Scrapbook Store is having it's 3RD BIRTHDAY SALE at the moment, with 20 % off storewide! Go and check it out!
That's all for today. I better get some sleep so I can cope with the mountain of washing that's wating for me. :)
Thank you for visiting. Hope you have an awesome week!
Until next time.
