Marion Smith Designs 'Garment District'

Hi everyone! Hope you are doing well and are having a great week. It is sweltering hot here in Perth (and most places around Australia) at the moment . It would be great if I never had to leave the house. Lol! Hope you are coping with the weather wherever you are. :)
I have another layout to share using the Marion Smith Designs 'Garment District' collection.  I simply love the quality of these papers.  I found these pics of my DD and her best friend and thought they would be perfect to use with this collection.  All products are available from The Scrapbook Store.
A close up of my flower cluster.  I have used Prima flowers, Petaloo blossoms, Green Tara Mini roses and flower stems and rose leaves punched out using my Martha Stewart 'Rose leaf' punch. I've inked the edges of the leaves using Tim Holtz Distress Ink. I have also used a black Manor House Ornate frame.  My title is an older label sticker from my stash.
Another close up of the left side.

And one of the right side. :)
That's all I have to share for today. Better get on with dinner now... we don't want to be hot AND starving! :) Thank you so much for visiting my blog today.  Have a lovely day/evening!
Until next time.

'Recycling' challenge at Scrap Africa

If you have been saving all those clothing tags or bits and pieces that you thought were just to pretty or interesting to throw away, now is your chance!  Scrap Africa's new challenge is all about recycling! :) You need to use at least one recycled item on your project.  For more information and to check out all the beautiful examples from the Design Team, go HERE.
Here is my example.  As you can see, I've saved the bow and bell from my chocolate bunny to use on my page. :)  I've used my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store, this time the beautiful Manor House Creations 'Believe' collection.
A close up of some of my background.  I've used The Crafters Workshop 'Tile Texture' template with texture paste and some Glimmer Mist.  After drying, I added stamping using Kaisercraft Texture stamps and a couple of ink splatters.  The title was cut using my Silhouette Cameo.

The chipboard 'Circular Panel' is from 2Crafty and the wood veneer arrows from WOW.
All the flowers are from Manor House Creations.

It's such a fun challenge... I hope you get a chance to play along with us.  You have until the end of January to get your entries in!
Thank you for visiting and have an awesome weekend!
Until next time.

January Sketch Challenge at The Scrapbook Store

Hi everyone!  Hope you are all well.  Life has returned pretty much to normal in our household.  Hubby and I have both returned to work.  The younger ones are both still on uni holidays, but are keeping busy with part time work and social activities. :)
Today I want to share the new sketch challenge at The Scrapbook Store with you.  Here is the gorgeous PageMaps sketch.
... and my take on it using the beautiful Marion Smith 'Garment District' collection.  The photo is of my parents with me on my christening day. :)
A close up showing my flower cluster.  All the flowers are from Manor House Creations, except for the 2 pink rose buds which are from my stash.  I've also added a strip of calico to my layers down the left side.
My chipboard title is from Scrap FX.
I love this lace from Green Tara.  My background was created using a Prima mask and some texture paste.  Once dried, I applied some chalk  with my finger to make it stand out.  I've also added some washi tape in various designs to my layout.

I hope you get a chance to play along.  There's $40 store voucher up for grabs and it includes free shipping!  The winner gets determined by random draw.  All you have to do, is enter!  You have until the end of January to get your entries in.
That's all for today!  Thank you so much for visiting.
Until next time!

Scrap Africa's January Sketch Challenge

Hi everybody and a Happy New Year to you all.  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that 2014 will be a great year for you and your families! I have been very quiet in the scrapping department but have been spending the most wonderful time with my little family and dear friends these last 2 weeks.  I am also in the process of tidying my scraproom and can feel a BIG giveaway coming on soon. :)
But today I'm here to share the January sketch challenge at Scrap Africa with you.  Here is the gorgeous sketch.
For my take on the sketch I've used the new Marion Smith 'Garment District' collection.  I was fortunate enough to receive these stunning papers in my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store and I simply love them! The photo is one we took during a recent holiday of the Busselton Jetty. :)
The gorgeous butterflies and words are from Collections Elements and I've used the Crafters Workshop 'Mini Chickenwire Reversed' template and Kaisercraft 'Script' stamp on the background.
The brown flowers are from Manor House Creations and the pink rose and crystal leafy flourishes are from Prima.
Another little close up...
 ... and another. :)
To see all the gorgeous examples from the rest of the Scrap Africa DT, have a look here.  I would love for you to play along.  You have until the 14th of January to get your entries in.
That's all for today.  I'm hoping to be more organised this year and to have more regular blog updates, but for now I am just going to enjoy the last few days of the holidays with my family.  Hubby and I are both starting work again on Monday.
Thank you for visiting.
Until next time!
