My dad

I always have great intentions to play along with the Saturday sketches at Kaisercraft, but I never seem to get around to it.  When I got my hands on some of the 'Sears & Son' collection a few weeks ago, I immediately thought of this pic I had of my dad when he was 17 years old.  Then I saw this sketch at Kaisercraft the other day and thought it would be perfect.  Love it when a plan comes together. :)
Here is my take on it. All products used are from this collection. I have added some hessian, cardboard, twine, a cork button and the alpha stickers.
The wooden cogs are from Kaisercraft too. :)
A little close up of my title.  I modified the 'Dad' metal title by covering it with gesso first and then painting it with brown and black paint to give it an 'older' look.

Hope you are enjoying the lovely long weekend (if you live in Australia).  My crew is keeping me fairly busy, but I'm loving it.
Thank you popping by.
Until next time.

Finally!

...I am getting time to sit down and do a blog post! I've been meaning to do this all week, but I'm afraid I'm still in that rat race I was talking about.  This is a layout I've completed over the weekend using the gorgeous MME 'The Sweetest Thing - Honey' collection.  I took these pics of my DD at the end of last year.  She'd been negotiating for a very long time to get her belly button pierced and we finally gave her permission.  Lol! It wasn't an easy one for us, as DH and I are not really keen on body piercings and tatoos.  Well, I suppose with a belly button piercing we never see it so it hasn't been bothering us too much. :)  I just hope the next request is not for a tattoo! :O
A little close up on the the gorgeous layered stickers that come with this collection.
Another layered sticker and some enamel dots.  All product used are available from 'The Scrapbook Store'.
Well, it my baby girl's last day of school EVER tomorrow! Tonight we will attend the Year 12 Students/Parents Dinner.  I cannot believe that this is the end of having school going children for us. They grow up way too fast! A bit sad really. :(   Now, all that's left is some real hard study time and hoping for some good results in theWACE exams in November. :)
That's all I have to share for today.  I have another layout ready to be photographed but the weather has turned very nasty here in Perth during the last 2 - 3 days. So much for Spring weather! It's freezing cold today.  I think the maximum was 15. :O
Thank you so much for visiting my blog.  Have a super wonderful weekend!
I'm hoping to do some blog hopping of my own soon so will see you over at your blog.
Until next time.

Cool Baby!

Hi everyone! Hope you are having a great week. Mine is fairly busy but a LOT better than last week (thank goodness!).  Lol!  I was joking with a friend today saying that as my youngest are finishing school this year, I think I'm going to take a Gap Year next year!! :):)
I'm actually here to share my take on the latest Stuck?! Sketch with you. Here is the sketch.
And here is my take on it.  I've used a pic of my friend's little girl when she was 15 months old. :)  The beautiful papers are from the MME 'The Sweetest Thing - Honey' collection.  I was lucky to receive these as part of my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store this month.
For some reason I found the layout a little bit difficult to photograph. :O
A close up showing off those beautiful Mulberry Paper Roses. They are now available at The Scrapbook Store.  The pearl flourish is from Kaisercraft and the leaves were punched out using my Martha Stewart 'Rose Leaf' punch.
I'm meeting with some scrappy friends on Saturday to get our montly fix. :)  Will hopefully have something to show after the weekend.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog.  I appreciate all the lovely comments you leave behind.
Have a great weekend!
Until next time.

My girl... the sweetest thing

It's been ages since my last post.  Life has been a bit of a roller coaster ride for me lately and it never seems to slow down enough for me to get off. Lol! Actually, I love being busy, but this last week has really been testing my limits.  Enough of that.  I managed to scrap a layout in between the crazyness and I have another one to be posted soon. :)  Phew! I needed that bit of creativity to put my life back in balance. :)
This is another layout using my September DT kit from The Scrapbook Store.  I've used a pic of my cheeky girl. Love her to bits. :)  The paper range is MME 'The Sweetest Thing - Lavender' of course.
That beautiful crocheted doily is also from this collection and so are the buttons. The flowers are the new TSS Mulberry Roses available in store now. The chipboard leaves are from Dusty Attic called Leafy Stems #2 and so is the Bird Cage #6.
 Another little flower cluster.
There are some very exciting things happening at The Scrapbook Store at the moment.  Loads of new products are arriving almost daily and the new DT members have been announced!  We have 4 fabulous talented ladies joining our team at the end of September.  You can read all about the announcement in the latest newsletter and on the blog HERE
I'm hoping to head of to bed soon as I need to catch up on some much needed sleep.  Thank you so much for visiting and for your beautiful comments.  They are very much appreciated.  Wishing you a great week and I'll see you over at your blog soon!
Until next time.

MME is 'The Sweetest Thing'

Happy Friday everyone!  Hope you had a great week and have an even better weekend planned.  I had a bit of time to play yesterday and created my first layout using my September DT kit from The Scrapbook Store.  Now, everybody probably know by now how much I love MME products.  This month I got to use the new 'The Sweetest Thing - Lavender' collection and it is GORGEOUS!!  I've scrapped a photo that hubby took of DD and I while on holidays earlier this year.   The circle background pattern was created using my Silhouette machine.  I really have to try and use it more often.
I loved using these brand new TSS Mulberry paper roses now in store.  They come in all sorts of yummy colours and sizes and are so beautiful!  I've added a few Green Tara mini roses and leaves to complete my cluster.  I added a bit of gesso to the leaves to soften the colour a bit.
The pearls strips are from Kaisercraft.  I love using these on my layouts!  I'm a bit of a twine girl too and thought it would look great with the cardboard and raw chipboard. :)
All the chipboard used on this layout are from Scrap FX.  This one is called 'Berries stem'.
That's all for today.  I'm hoping to find more time soon to create another layout with my kit.  MME makes me feel so excited!! :)
Thank you so much for visiting and have a great weekend!
Until next time.

September sketch at The Scrapbook Store

Hi everyone! I hope your Spring has started better than ours. Our actual Spring Day on Saturday was a lovely sunny day and so was Sunday, but then it all changed. :( We've are having some crazy storms here in Perth since yesterday and I'm too scared to poke my nose outside, so I'm staying indoors as much as I can.  A real pain when you are trying to get washing dry and I still have to make a dash to the shop before dinner. :O
Now onto some scrappy news.  The new sketch for September is up at The Scrapbook Store and it's another stunner created by Nadia Cannizzo. :)
Here is my take on it, using the MME 'Lost & Found Two' collection.  The pics are of my DS climbing around on some rocks while we were on holidays in April.  He always has time for a silly pose or two.:)
The flowers are from Prima and the chipboard flourish is from Scrap FX.
 Another close up.
 ... and another one. :)
Why don't you give the sketch a go? You could win a $40 store voucher with free postage! A winner is selected by random draw, so anyone could win.  Just upload your entry into the correct folder in the gallery HERE before the end of the month. Good luck!
If you want to read all the latest news from The Scrapbook Store, you will find it all on the TSS blog.
That's all for today.  I'm hoping to get some scrappy time this week, so will see you later.
Thanks for visiting my blog and hope you have a lovely week.
Until next time.

Scrap The Girls September challenge is up!

Hi there everyone!  Hope you are all well and enjoying a lovely weekend. :)  All well here, except for a sick DD.  She's getting better slowly, so that good.  Just wanted to share my CT example for the Scrap The Girls September Challenge.  This month you have to scrap ACTION or SPORT photos.  Pretty easy, hey?  Go and check out the rest of the CT's gorgeous examples.
I've scrapped a photo that I took of my DD while we were on holidays in April this year.  Her and DH went rowing in the ocean every afternoon. She loves all things action/sport so this was not a difficult task at all.  I've used the Simple Stories 'Summer Fresh' collection.  I love this range. :)
A little close up of my clouds and hot air balloon. I love all the word stickers that come with this range.
The chevron strip is part of the design on one of the pattern papers.
The title was also part of one of the pattern papers.  I cut it out and inked around the edges.
I hope to see your entry in the gallery soon.  There are some awesome prizes up for grabs, but you have to be in it to win it!
Wishing you all a happy day for Fathers Day tomorrow! Hope you get to spend some time with your dad.  Not something I've had the opportunity to do too often during my life. :(
Thank you for visiting my blog and for your lovely comments.  I appreciate each and every one of them.
Until next time.
