Simple Stories 'So Fancy' for The Scrapbook Store

Hi everyone! I have a huge post today.  I was so lucky to receive the Simple Stories 'So Fancy' collection in my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store last month. It's a gorgeous girly range, just perfect for my young adult daughter. So without further delay, here are my creations using it.
The first one is of my DD pulling a face at the camera. I have mainly used papers and frames from this collection. The flowers are from Prima and the butterfly from Petaloo. I have also added burlap, twine as well as a Dusty Attic chipboard title.
A few close ups of some of the details.

And here is a card I made using the papers and adding a Bo Bunny paper doily, a strip of burlap and a Green Tara mini rose. I have cut the butterfly using a Cheery Lynn die.
My next layout is about my DD's love for Instagram. The background was done using a stencil and texture paste and the rest of the products are papers, stickers, frames and enamel dots from the Simple Stories 'So Fancy' collection.  The word '#insta' was cut using my Silhouette machine.
And again, a few close ups to show more of the detail.

For my last layout I used Bazzil kraft cardstock as my base.  This is DD and her best friend. They have been friends since early high school years and are also studying together at uni. Some flowers were fussy cut from one of the papers and the rest of the flowers are from Prima as well as Green Tara mini roses
 More close ups again. :)

Phew! Now I definitely need to go to bed. I hope you are all well and enjoying the change of season wherever you are. We had the coldest day in Perth since the start of winter. Luckily the sun was shining and they are forecasting some lovely warm spring days for later in the week. :)
Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a lovely week.
Until next time.

March Sketch Challenge at The Scrapbook Store

Hi everyone! Welcome back to my blog. I apologise for my long absence. I've taken  a little break from most things crafty as I had a few things that needed my attention.  It's the first time I took time away from scrapbooking in 12 years, but now I am back and hopefully ready for another 12 years!

The first thing I want to share with you is the March Sketch Challenge at The Scrapbook Store.
Here is my take on it.  I've used the gorgeous new Simple Stories 'I am' collection.
A close up showing some of the texture I've created using the Tim Holtz 'Dot Fade' stencil and texture paste.
I've cut the flowers from one of the patterned papers and also added stamping using the Kaisercraft 'Grid' texture stamp with black Staz On ink.
The butterfly is from the 'Bits & Pieces' packet from this collection.  I've added some Clearsnap Smooch Glitz 'Frost' to create a bit of shine.
I hope you get a chance to play along. There is a $40 store voucher up for grabs and it also includes free postage. The winner gets determined by random draw, so anyone can win.
That's all I have for now.  I promise to be back soon with another share.
As always, thank you so much for visiting. I appreciate it.
Until next time!

My take on it using the Simple Stories 'Vintage Bliss' collection.  I was so happy to receive this beautiful collecion in my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store this month.  The photo is of my friend's little girl when she was only a few months old... so sweet.
I've used an assortment of Prima flowers, Kaisercraft paper blooms and Green Tara mini roses and finished it off with leaves that I've cut using the Poppy Stamps 'Lorelai Leaf' die.
I have recently purchased the gorgeous Prima 'Cicular Lattice' mask and used it here for the first time Love the look of it. :)
That's all I have for today. Hope to be back soon with something else to share.  Thank you for visitng and have a beautiful weekend!

Special Moment and a reminder!

What a beautiful day it was in Perth today!  I am loving the milder weather and a bit of soft rain added on the side. :)  Just want to share a layout I did based on the 1st April sketch over at Stuck Sketches.  I love playing along at Stuck whenever I get the chance.  Here is the sketch.
My take on it, using the Simple Stories 'Vintage Bliss' collection. Love the colours in this collection! The photo is of my my mum, myself and DD taken in 2008.  As we don't see my parents very often, this was indeed a very special moment. :)
All the flowers were cut from one of the sheets of patterned paper in this collection and the little birdhouse is from Dusty Attic.
I've also used my newly purchased Prima 'Damask' stencil and some Texture Magic to create a bit of interest on the background.
I'll be back soon with more creations using this beautiful collection.

Now for the REMINDER. :)  Would you like to win one of the following packs in my current GIVEAWAY?  Then go HERE to find out how?

That's all for today! Got to run, as we are meeting with friends for dinner.  Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
Until next time.

Scrap The Girls September challenge is up!

Hi there everyone!  Hope you are all well and enjoying a lovely weekend. :)  All well here, except for a sick DD.  She's getting better slowly, so that good.  Just wanted to share my CT example for the Scrap The Girls September Challenge.  This month you have to scrap ACTION or SPORT photos.  Pretty easy, hey?  Go and check out the rest of the CT's gorgeous examples.
I've scrapped a photo that I took of my DD while we were on holidays in April this year.  Her and DH went rowing in the ocean every afternoon. She loves all things action/sport so this was not a difficult task at all.  I've used the Simple Stories 'Summer Fresh' collection.  I love this range. :)
A little close up of my clouds and hot air balloon. I love all the word stickers that come with this range.
The chevron strip is part of the design on one of the pattern papers.
The title was also part of one of the pattern papers.  I cut it out and inked around the edges.
I hope to see your entry in the gallery soon.  There are some awesome prizes up for grabs, but you have to be in it to win it!
Wishing you all a happy day for Fathers Day tomorrow! Hope you get to spend some time with your dad.  Not something I've had the opportunity to do too often during my life. :(
Thank you for visiting my blog and for your lovely comments.  I appreciate each and every one of them.
Until next time.

Bird Is The Word

Just a quick post to get my entry in for Bird Is The Word.  This time you had the use the word 'Smile' on your layout.  What better pic to have used than this one of my friend's 2 kiddies.  They are such sweet children and just love each other to bits. There really is sunshine in their smiles. :)
A close up of my title.  I've used hessian and calico to 'back' it on as I thought it added nicely to the natural feel of these papers.  I just love this range of Simple Stories called 'Summer Fresh'.  I seem to be using my Crafters Workshop 'Chicken Wire' template a fair bit lately. :)
Anyhows, that's it for now. Hope you are having a lovely Sunday and that you get to do something crafty.  Have fun!
Until next time.

Believe

My poor neglected blog! I've been SO busy with all things non-scrappy that I had no time to scap for over 2 weeks. Things are starting to slow down a little... for the next week anyway. I have so many deadlines to meet, so I better get scrapping! Lol! Just want to share another layout I created with my DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne. I've decided to play along with Stuck Sketches again, doing their 15th March challenge this time. Here is the sketch:
Here is my take on it. :)  I've used the Simple Stories 'Fabulous' range.  I purposely went for a boyish layout (Lol! Well sort of!) as  I love the orange and turqouise in this collection. I made use of the opportunity to use my Crafters Workshop 'Mini Gears' template too. Oh, and my Martha Stewart 'Swirling Lace' Punch Around the Page set got a bit of attention too. :)
The flowers are a mixture of old and new Prima as well as another little handmade one.  The new range of Prima flowers are all so beautiful, it's so hard to choose!  The leaves were made using my MS frond punch.
I just love all the the Prima wooden buttons that's available now.  Perfect for those boy pages.  The new Kaisercraft word rubons are lovely too. I have used the word 'believe' in 2 places.
It was my boy's 19th birthday on Monday, so I made him a quick card using the Echo Park 'Times & Seasons' collection. I have used this range for so many projects already and I still think it's one of my favourites. :)
Hope you are all having a fantastic week.  I will be doing my rounds on the blogs soon.  I apologise for not leaving much love on your blogs during the last couple of weeks. :(
Thank you so much for visiting!
Until next time.

Once upon a sketch

Hi everyone! Every month I have the best intentions to play along at Once Upon A Sketch but time always seems to get the better of me.  This month I did it!  The deadline is tomorrow night, so I'm even early! Lol! What gives you the idea that I'm a last minute kinda girl? :)
Anyway... here is the sketch that you need to base your layout on.
The focus of your jounalling and the theme of your layout has to be bsed on YOU and something that you are really good at.  As I'm not really all that keen to scrap my own pic or talk about myself, I have decided to mention some of the positive aspects of my personality, which is that I'm caring, sensitive, loyal, friendly and loving. Although, I don't know if being sensitive is always such a positive. :)
Here is my take on the challenge.  This is one of the many pics that I considered as my profile pic to appear with the articles I'm currently doing for Scrapbooking Memories.  I found fault with every single photo I considered.  I suppose being a 'self critic' is one of my 'not so good' points. :)
I turned the sketch on its side to suit my photo better. :)  I've used my gorgoeus DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne.  I just adore the colours in this Simple Stories 'Fabulous' collection.  Here is close up of my flower cluster.  The big one is a Prima flower and the 3 smaller ones I've made myself using some scrap pattern paper.  The rhinestone swirl is from Zva Creative.
A close up of my title and journalling. :)
I've use some of the gorgeous new Kaisercraft Ribbon roses in the 'coral' colour and another self made flower.
Can you tell how much I love my Martha Stewart 'frond' punch?  Hehe... one of my favourites.
I think that's all for today.  I've got a million things I still have to do today, so best I get up and go do it!
Thank you so much for visiting and for all the lovely comments you leave.  I really appreciate it.
Hope you are having a fabulous week!
Until next time.

She is fabulous

Hi guys!
I'm just flying through to share my take on the 1st of March sketch over at Stuck Sketches. I've used my gorgeous DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne.  I love this pic of my DD. :)
All the pattern papers and stickers are from the new Simple Stories 'Fabulous' collection.
Here is a close up showing those gorgeous Prima flowers (which is 35% of at the moment!) and the new Kaisercraft wooden leaf. I by accident had a part of my leaf broken off, but then decided to use it in two parts like that anyway. :)
A doily by  my lovely scrappy friend Chantelle, who owns 'Creative Bits'.  I bought these from her Clearance Sale.  I've used the new sitcky back canvas from Ranger to back my photo on.
Here is the sketch if you would like to give it a go.
That's all for today!  Thank you for popping by and I hope you have a wondeful day and weekend.
Until next time.
