Caught Napping!

I was a little slow this month but I finally completed my take on Sam's gorgeous sketch for Handmade by Suzanne this month. So, if you've got a reason for being stuck indoors this weekend, why not give it a go. You could win a lovely prize! You can find more detail here.
Here is my take on it. The photo is of my dad having a nap on Christmas day. Lol! He can fall asleep just about anywhere and when caught out he always says 'I'm not sleeping, I'm just resting my eyes'. I've used some pattern papers that I've had for a loooong time and some bits and pieces I've had lying around. I just love my new MS punch. :)
A close up of my little cluster in the corner.
And another close up of the owl. I painted the little hearts red and shined it up with a bit of Dimension Magic.
This layout was a 'just because' layout of my brother and I. We don't see each other very often but had the privilege of spending Christmas day together last year (after not seeing each other for 4 years).
All the products used are from Handmade by Suzanne: Basic Grey 'Curio' pattern papers, Kasercraft lace and mini doily, Basic Grey micro mono alphas, Scrapware Correboard Alphas, Kaisercraft Paper blooms and Ink.
A close up of those gorgoeus Kaisercraft paper blooms. It's a new favourite of mine and its available in so many colours! Check it out here.
And another close up...
That's all for today. Hope you are all enjoying a fantastic weekend doing something you really love. Until next time!

Some more Bella goodness

Hi there lovely ladies! I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful Australia Day. I decided to catch up on a bit of blogging today. I started a bit late with my DT work this month and still have a few images to share. I used the the Bella Blvd 'Socialite' range for this layout with my DD as the subject. The photos aren't the best but you have to scrap the 'not so good' ones too right?
All products used are available from Handmade by Suzanne.
A close up of the American Crafts Rose trim, Kaisercraft doily and the gorgeous Prima flower.
And a close up of the Green Tara flowers and Prima flower centres.
A card made of the left overs .
And another card.
That's all for today. I have a few more layouts to share but will keep that for another day. Better go and act a bit more Aussie-like before the day is gone. ;)
Thank you so much for visiting my little blog.

First layout for 2011!

Yay!! I've done my first layout for 2011!! I was a bit worried when Suzanne asked me to do a layout with the 'Lovey Dovey' range from Bella Boulevard, but it came together fairly easy and I'm quite happy with the outcome. I've used a rhinestone flourish from Kaisercraft, a Jenni Bowlin butterfly (you know how much I love these) and some Prima 'stitched wild flowers' and Pom pom trim. The alpa stickers are from the range as well. All the products are available at Handmade by Suzanne.

... and the Jenni Bowlin butterfly ;)
I'm hoping to catch up on all my favourite blogs during the next days or two. Hope you are all having a great weekend!

I'm back and some exciting news

Hi there all my scrappy friends! I'm back. We had a fantastic hoiliday but I'm so glad to be home. I'm sure you will all understand if I say 'There is nothing like your own bed'.
I haven't got anything scrappy to share yet, but I'm hoping to change all of that over the next week or so. I'm almost starting to feel human again after suffering terrible jetlag over the past 3 days. Getting there. ;)

I would like to share some exciting news from "Handmade by Suzanne" though.
The lovely
Michelle Fowler has joined our DT team! I am so excited to be able to work with this very talented lady. Welcome Michelle!!
Unfortunately we had to say 'good bye' to Liz. Thank you for all your card inspiration over the last year Liz and best of luck for the future.
Another bit of exciting news... Our Guest DT for January is the very talented
Samantha Hauzer! Sam has also provided the sketch at HBS this month. You can check it out here.

Last but not least... Handmade by Suzanne is having an enourmous sale at the moment! With 30-40% off a huge range of products you'll kick yourself for not checking it out – some of the products are only a few months old.

I just want to thank everybody who sent Chirstmas, holiday and New Year's wishes. I appreciate it very much. I hope that 2011 will be everything you want it to be!!
