Stencils, Paint and Paste

Hi everyone!  It's been 10 days since my last blog post!  I must add that I had the most amazing time in the meantime. ;)  My friend, Suzanne and I flew to Adelaide to meet with a wonderful scrappy friend (and fellow DT member), Belinda Spencer.  We spent the day in Adelaide and flew off to Brisbane on Friday night to attend the Scrapbooking and Papercraft Expo over the weekend. We managed to fit in 3 classes on Friday and Saturday.  I will share those projects with you soon. I also had the priviledge to meet quite a few of my online friends for the first time IRL!  Amongst them were the gorgeous Leanne Allinson and Lindy Gillespie (also fellow DT members). What beautiful souls.  Also met up with Kim Jeffress, Cathy Cafun, Chantalle McDaniel (crazy girl!!), Karen Shady, Heather McMahon, Beck Beattie and Monica Brady... just to mention a few.  What a blast!  I returned home late on Monday night, absolutely exhausted, but it was so worth it!

Onto some actual scrapbooking now. :) There is a wonderful new challenge up at Scrap AfricaUse texture paint or modelling paste, either with a mask or stencil or free hand and any other wet medium like paint or mists etc.

The CT members have done an amazing job to provide you with plenty of inspiration. You can see all their examples HERE.
Here is my example.  The photo is of my MIL on a recent holiday with us. There were these beautiful rose gardens at one of the wineries we visited.  My SIL took this pic of her mum. :)
I have used 3 different coloured mists to create my background and then used the Crafters Workshop 'Mini Bricks' template and some Texture Magic behind my photo.  I also put a bit of muslin behind the photo to soften things a bit..

I have sprayed the same mist that I used on my background (Heidi Swapp Color Shine ' Georgia Peach') onto AC DIY Thickers for the word 'smell' and the white alphas were cut on my Silhouette machine.

The metal frame is from Maya Road and the 'simple pleasures' chipboard word is from the TSS chipboard collection.  My flower cluster is a mixture of Petaloo, Manor House and Green Tara.

The gorgeous butterfly is from my gorgeous scrappy friend Kim Price. I was fortunate enough to meet Kim at our recent retreat. Thanks Kim!
Well, that's it for today. I hope you get a chance to play along with this lovely challenge.  You have until the end of the month to get your entries in.
Thank you so much for visiting!  Wishing you a wonderful week!
Until next time.
