More Websters 'Plum Seed'

Hi everyone. Hope your week started well.  I created another layout with my July DT kit from The Scrapbook Store.  This time I used a photo of the whole family. :)  The Websters Pages 'Plum Seed' collection is really versatile!
A beautiful Manor House fine. I love the dark teal colour. :)
The title is a WOW chippie. I thought it would be perfect for the pic.  I painted it with an old Making Memories paint I've had for years. The colour matched so well.
That's all I have for today, but I will be back when the new month starts with more to share.  Have a great week and thank you so much for visiting my blog.
Until next time.

Websters 'Plum Seed'

O dear, I'm forming a terrible habit of doing one post a week at the moment.  I always have greater intentions, but it doesn't ever seem to work out.
This month I am creating with the beautiful Websters 'Plum Seed' collection for The Scrapbook Store.  I adore the colours in this range!  First up is a layout of my gorgeous girl and I.  The photo was taken amongst the spring flowers in Kings Park (here in Perth) in 2010.  I have used an assortment of the Mini folders and cards to frame my photo.
A mixture of Prima, Petaloo and Green Tara flowers. The leaves were punches using the Martha Stewart 'Rose leaf' punch.
Another cluster of flowers.  The mini word stickers are from an older MME range.
I've cut my title using my Silhouette Cameo. :)
I also decided to play along with Stuck Sketches this month.  I'm a huge fan of Sara's sketches and like to play along whenever I get a chance.  Here is the sketch for the 15th of July.
And here is my take on it using the gorgeous Websters 'Plum Seed' collection again.  For some or other reason I couldn't get the colours to photograph correctly.  Might have to give it another go.  The photo is of DS, DD and I at our best! Lol! If you can't beat them, join them! :)
I have used the Crafters Workshop 'Microbial' stencil and some Texture Magic to create the circle.

Decided to make rosettes for this one and used a Greatest View flair badge on one of them.  Did you know that you can buy The Greatest View flair badges from The Scrapbook Store now?
Another close up of some of the layers.

I also have something very exciting to share. The layout on the front cover of the latest Scrapbooking Memories (Vol 15 No 12) is mine!  I am thrilled to bits about it! The little girl in the photo belongs to my very good friend Barbara and Jessica (now almost 4) is so excited to see her sweet little face on the cover of the magazine.

Okay, I'm off to bed!  Will  have to be a bit more blog active tomorrow.  Thank you for popping by! Have a wonderful week!
Until next time.

My challenge at Scrap Africa

Hi everyone! I'm hosting the challenge over at Scrap Africa this month!  My challenge for you is to create a background with a patchwork effect, wether it's achieved by using paper piecing or any other medium you like.
The Design Team has done an amazing job!  To check out their beautiful examples for inspiration, have a look HERE.  You have until the end of the month to get your entry in and to stand a chance to win some awesome prizes! :)
Here is my example.  I have used an old range from October Afternoon called 'Farmhouse'. The photo is of my mum and my brother, on the right, with my cousin and aunt on the left.

A close up of some of the embellies. :)  One of the pattern papers already had the small squares printed on it, so I just cut them out, inked the edges and arranged them the way I liked.

Another close up. :)
That's all I have for today. Hope you are having a great week and thank you for visiting!
Until next time.

My heart is full

Hi there everyone. Happy Friday to you all!  I can't believe it's been a week since my last post! Phew! Where has the time gone?  I have also totally forgotten that I haven't shared my example for the July Sketch challenge at The Scrapbook Store yet, so here I am. It's another gorgeous sketch from Page Maps.
Here is my take on it, using the gorgeous Pink Paislee 'Cottage Farms' collection.  I love the soft colours in this collection.  The photo is of my two kids and I and was taken in September 2010. They really make my life complete. :)
A close up of the gorgeous burlap flower from this collection. Added a few Green Tara mini roses and leaves and a Petaloo flower.  The lace is from Green Tara too.
Another cluster using a die cut flower from the ephemera pack from this collection.   The canvas butterfly is from the Pink Paislee 'Hope Chest' collection.  Isn't it gorgeous?
And another little cluster where I just layered more of the ephemera, added a little rose and a white TSS chipboard phrase.
I hope you can play along with this challenge.  There's an awesome $40 store voucher up for grabs as well as free postage!  You have until the end of the month to get your entries in!
That's all for today! I hope you have a wonderful weekend whatever you do!
Thanks for visiting.
Until next time.

My last CT layout for Scrap The Girls

Hi there.  I'm a little sad doing this post today. I have been on the Creative Team for Scrap The Girls for 18 months now and the time has come to say good bye. :(  I have enjoyed every minute of my time on this awesome team and Malinda is the best to work with.  I will miss all the lovely ladies I've been working with over this time.  Life is just getting a little too busy for me at the moment and it might be time for me to slow down for a while to sort my health problems out too. Nothing too serious... my energy levels are just a bit on the low side. :(
Anyway, as I was saying... I'm here to post my CT example for the July challenge at Scrap The Girls.  This month you have to use the words from a song 'How sweet it is to be loved by you' as your title or in your journaling. Easy hey?  Just remember, GIRLS only. :)
I have used an older collection from Echo Park called 'Victoria Gardens'.  I love the gorgeous mixture of pinks in this range and decided that it will go well with a bit of black in the mix. :)  The roses were fussy cut from one of the papers and I just added a few Green Tara Mini roses to it.
I also love a bit of sewing on my pages to finish things off.
My title using Basic Grey Mini alpha stickers.
You have until the end of July to get your entry in!
That's all I have for today.  I am planning a huge blog catch up over the weekend, so if you haven't heard from me in a while, watch out! Lol! :)
Thank you for popping by and have a wonderful weekend!
Until next time.

A 'bright' summer :)

Hi everyone! I just can't believe it's July already! What has happened to the first 6 months of the year?! This month is already running away from me too! LOL!  So, let me try and catch it while I can! :)
Scrap Africa has a brand new sketch up and it's a beauty!
During The Scrapbook Store's Retreat in May, I had the privilege of sitting next to the gorgeous Kim Price (a fellow DT member). My oh my! Does that girl have ideas! She gave us a short demonstration on how she creates her wonderful arty and colourful backgrounds.  I decided to give it a go with this layout.  It isn't nearly as wonderful as the talented Kim's backgrounds, but I'm quite happy with the end result.  Even hubby said he loves it! Hehehe...
Here's my take.  The photo is of my friend's little guy having a splash in the water.  As I created my background first, I had to look for photo to go with it and my DD picked this one.

I have used Dylusions Ink sprays  and the Crafters Workshop 'Burst' template with Delta Creative Texture Magic. Teamed it up with a mixture of Manor House flowers, Green Tara mini paper roses and some other bits from my stash.
The title is an old rhinestone word from Kaisercraft.
I hope you get a chance to play along. You have until the 14th of July to get your entry in. Check out the challenge and all the beautiful examples from the DT HERE.
That's all I have today.  I'll be back in a few days with more.
Thank you for visiting my blog.
Until next time! Take care.
