Scrap Africa's December Sketch Challenge

Hi there everyone!  I can't believe it's December already.  I am so not prepared for Christmas.  Lucky I still have a few weeks hey?!
Scrap Africa has the new sketch up for December.  For my example. I've decided to start with a blank piece of chipboard. Very unlike me to be so brave. ;)
I first covered my chipboard with a layer of gesso and once dried I've added some dimension using my 12 x 12 Prima 'Checker' mask and some texture paste.  Before lifting the stencil I sprayed some Heidi Swapp Color Shine 'Seafoam' over it.  I created my drips and circle 'stains' using the  Lindy Stamp Gang 'Buccaneer Bronze' mist.  All the paper are from the Marion Smith 'Nirvana' collection - one of my most favourite ranges ever! The photo is of my grandfather who passed away in 1985.  I am planning on getting more information about his life to add to this layout.
A few metal gears and a WOW mini chipboard title.
I cut the big clock and clock hands from chipboard using a Tim Holtz die. I gave it coat of black paint and then rubbed some Baroque Art 'Inca Gold' Gilders Paste onto the edges to 'age' it a bit.  I did the same with my chipboard title.  Love how it turned out.  The rest of the clocks and the butterfly were fussy cut from one of the papers in the Marion Smith 'Nirvana' collection.
Another little close up showing some of the 'stains' and stamping.
The book paper is a piece from the Splash of Color 'Book pages'.
And here is the sketch. For more inspiration from the rest of the DT, have a look HERE.
I would love to see your take on the sketch!  You have until the 14th of December to get your entries in.
That's all I have for today.  Thank you so much for popping in!  Have a wonderful week!
Until next time.

Oh such a beautiful heritage page. You always do them so wonderfully! Love the masculine feel and the background effects are terrific! So important to get the information documented for the next generation. So many times the details are lost in time.
